Are those minutes based on Maric's 2011 or 2010?

Career, from Pro-Stats.

Looking more closely, it appears they don't have TOG for 2007.

2006 Maric 377 minutes (8 games), Graham -
2007 Maric ? (6), Graham ? (2)
2008 Maric 1348 (16), Graham -
2009 Maric 1585 (20), Graham 1324 (16)
2010 Maric 1775 (21), Graham 1221 (15)
2011 Maric 494 (6), Graham 1494 (14)

With these stats I'd be looking at hitouts to advantage, my guess is that Maric would have the edge.

I would also add the fact that Graham's opponent generally featured in the opposition best players, even guys like Hudson were made to look like superstars.

I heard a Carlton supporter claiming the way we went about trade week was good for getting depth but wont win a premiership. Bit upset still u think? Obviously these guys aren't stars but we are keeping our high level picks and in fact gaining extra's to get our stars. Going about it well. We used to trade first rounders for these types. :hihi

Carlton only know how to buy and cheat their way to a premiership, so I aren't be too worried what they think. I think our strategy has been very good the last few years, we have traded for some solid citizens that fill some gaps in our list without sellng the farm and then drafted for top quaility talent. Making good decisions on draft day has also helped.

"Trade for depth and needs , draft for stars "

Thats all we ask for. Give us that and he will soon be a crowd favourite.

All of a sudden we have two big men in Vickery and Maric who dont mind dishing it out to the opposition.

Lol. Paddy Ryder will be curled up in a ball somewhere.

And thats exactly what we have done over the past 2 trade periods.

I think Houli was more than a solid citizen last year. If he improves another 20% next year he will be an A grader.

I am liking what i see from the big mullet.

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Disagree Gus always hits to advantage.......of the opposition ;D

Maric was great. I knew he was a decent ruckman but i didnt expect him to convincingly beat two very very good ruckmen. I reckon he was let down by some poor clearance work from the mids to be honest.

Maric 12, Goldie and McIntosh a combined 7 ;)

The North rucks were rotated and were kept fresh, Maric never went off as far as I could see. Despite that Mega mullet competed hard for the whole 40 minutes, the lad has heart as well as hair.

The best thing about iVan was his work after the tap. His 2nd and 3rd efforts and attempts to fight for the ball on the ground were superb. He is every chance to be top-5 in our clearance numbers at season's end if he keeps that up. Gus is not nearly as good below his knees, or agile enough to offer too much once the ball spills off the ruckmen's hands.

Maric is no world beater, but geez how much difference does it make to have a ruckman out there that doesnt play scared like Gus.

Maric isn't a star but will be interesting to see how he goes as first ruck now he has the opportunity.

Going by his interviews it seems he will put in 110% for the club and what a difference it will make having a decent ruckman, something we have lacked since Greg Stafford.

I'd like to think EEvan will fast track Browne and Gus so that they become worthy backups.
More importantly though I like the Vickery EEvan combo.

I'd actually rather they play Derickx if it comes down to a choice out of Graham and Browne. Derickx looks better than either of them at present.

Agree. Im already factoring that the XMan is better. More about trying to get EEvan to encourage some value out of the Big Ranga and Gus.
