Bulked up, gave away some of his mobility to build himself into a monster. Stuffed groins, never moved the same since then. On borrowed time till we find a suitable replacement. Either a punt on a emerging talent who we think may blossom or an A grade ruckman who will cost us plenty to bring to punt Road. Something a bot better than a 201cm Ben Marsh (2004 - 7 games)
I'll see your Ben Marsh and raise you a Trent Knobel.

I think we have burnt Ivvy over the last 2 seasons. Need to improve his management over the seasons and give him regular breaks throughout the year and play Hampson

Bit like we did with Simmonds I reckon

Wasn't feeling flash last week. ;D

Looked like we had a dozen like that, t80. But they took the field.

Ivvy gotta lift.

Watching 360 tonight and they had a little mash-up of NikNat's complete dominance of Ivan. It was embarrassing for our workhorse.
Our mids had no chance.

yes seen that as well he got slaughtered.

Not drafting Grundy is a good example of our poor list management and lack of foresight , indefensible really.
Grundy went at #18 in that draft, so plenty of other clubs overlooked him too.

Crap. Been discussed to death so won't even bother. Its hindsight talk. There were good reasons why we drafted Vlastuin, in other words, its defensible. Grundy would be good to have no doubt, with hindsight, but to stretch that to its 'indefensible' we didn't draft him is ridiculous.

Other clubs didn't/don't need a ruckmen as badly as we did/do.
So between picks #9 and #18 no one needed a ruck man? Grundy was drafted in the 2012 draft. Ivan played his first season for us in 2012, he played 21 games and was 3rd in the B&F. Hindsight's a wonderful thing, isn't it?

I think Bulluss (among others) was calling for us to take Grundy.
I think the last ruck man Richmond took with a top 10 pick was Vickery, and people still froth at the mouth about that one. Imagine if we'd picked Grundy at #9, with a fully fit Ivan Maric in the side?

I'll call with Steven O'Dwyer (5 games -1992). Dont make me play the Lounder card :)

I will raise you Wayne Thornborrow , part of the Jamie Elliott deal to the Saints

Club officials are paid to act in foresight. Hindsight is left to supporters on fan forums.

If the club keep excusing themselves from excellence we will forever peak mid table.

But we've gone from woeful, to non-woeful, to mid-table. You don't just go from the sh!thouse to the penthouse in one hit. but, time will tell where we peak.
