Ivan Maric

Watched the game from behind the Punt Road End goals.

Noticed when Maric was resting forward that several times his opponent was third up against Jack and Maric couldn't get to the marking contest at all.

Looks like the big guy only goes forward when he is exhausted.

Reckon it might be better for him to have his few rests on the bench.

(might need to handcuff him to the bench to keep him there for 3 to 5 minutes a quarter though) :)

Yeah, he doesn't like being off. If Griff comes back and Vickery stays in, they can assist him more in the ruck, which can only be a good thing.

Love the big fellas heart but it seems his expiry is approaching.....

I'd love to target Luenberger and partner him with Ty & Griff.
We had the most agile ruck combo goin round for 6-7 yrs

We dlon't need Leuenberger. the future is Ty, Griff and Beanie rotating through the ruck and forward line.

May be a little slower these days, but he had a great game, quick hands In the packs and smart decisions, almost rover-like at times in short bursts, including a great goal from the pocket.

i have thought ivan is jumping and moving as good as he ever has at Richmond

He looked like he was transported back 3 years ago, with his marking and general play around the ground. No one knows how much longer he can sustain this kind of form,so enjoy it whilst we can.

Considering that the previous week Ivan had to ruck largely single handed against Goldstein in Tassie, he came up pretty well for this game.

The iVan looked a little creaky at the start of the year but a bit of lube seems to have got him going through the gears a bit more smoothly.
Eeeewww. KY? :cutelaugh

Seriously he is jumping higher than I have seen him ever. Halved it with Goldstein the week before and beat the wunderkind Grundy last weekend.

Can't disagree with that. Perhaps Hardwick put him on notice? Has definitely stepped it up the past fortnight.

I reckon it just takes him 5 or 6 games to get the miles in the legs these days - same as last year when he came back from injury

For a man supposedly on his last legs, he really gave a strong hard running performance throughout the game today. His rucking was dominant and for a big man he moved all over the field well.
