Ivan Maric

When The Hampster Farce ends there will be plenty around here eating their words.

Is cooked. Is running around like he is on a treadmill. Can't jump and seems to be easily pushed off the ball these days. Time to look for a replacement now. Needs about 8-10 weeks on the sidelines to recover from whatever he is suffering as looks a shadow of his dominating self.

Yet was given one vote by one of the coaches

Surprised by this. IMO not in tigers top 5 for the game let alone top 5 on the ground

His game style was always one that was going to lead to a rapid drop off in form when his body gave out. Great warrior who has taken many hits for the club. Hope he proves me wrong but not sure he can continue much longer and be the force we need in games

I reckon rest Maric for the rest of the year and then you will see just how bad we really are. How much we rely on a "cooked" ruckman and how much he actually does. I am actually serious about that. Lets see what Vicks and Hampson can do and to a lesser extent Griff (as i dont think he is worth the risk as a full time ruck, he is too important as a CHF).

Why did we recruit Hampson?
He regularly has 50+ hit-outs in the VFL...tall, good age, fairly athletic.
What about giving him 6-8 games. If he can direct 10 to our midfield, chopout a bit in defence and take a couple of grabs up forward...his confidence may grow and we could have a good No.1 ruck man to build around.
Ivan can't shoulder the position for much longer...his body is letting him down.
How about coaching Hampson into the position...we'll never know in the 2's.

Some are underselling Maric IMO.

Thought he has been more than solid this season so far.

I think it's fairly obvious with Hampson (in his 9th season) after playing 74 AFL games (and probably just as many VFL games) that he's not the answer.

It sucks when I read Maric being *smile* canned. A 1% per center week in week out in an under performing team with a COACH who insists TV & Griff can reduce his load. Somehow *smile* has to get another physical ruckman in to support him because at the moment Ivan is just about burnt out. TV & Griff as ruckmen are just pretenders.

True. If you doubt this, go watch the VFL.

When the Hamspter Farce ends you'll all be buying tickets for the bandwagon.

Shame there are no presidencies this year.

I know you're trying to wind people up Baloo, but no one is gonna fall for that.

We'll see. He's one of the leagues best tap ruckman by a mile and his hit outs to advantage are some of the best seen.

In last season's loss to North (with Ivvy rucking with Vickery), Goldstein had 20 possessions, 1 goal & a whopping 43 hitouts for a total of 166 SC points.
If playing horses for courses, Hammer must come into consideration this week.

Have Maric and Hampson ever played in the same team together ?
