Goodbye Mabior Chol

As a ruckman possibly but Chol offers something different, athleticism pace and lateral movement.

CCJ your traditional ruckman with some smarts and technique who can take a grab and kick a goal.

CCJ is a whiles away I think while Cholly would hope to start demanding games this year
I agree that he shows promise but, just quietly he will need lift his output before he starts demanding anything

I would like to see him show a lot more consistency at VFL level before getting AFL games. Just disappears for long periods of time, not sure whether its just an attention thing, hopefully it is and he can work on it.

During the pre-season it's essential Chol undergo hypnotherapy: "Mabs ... look into my eyes ... look into – Mabs, stop looking at your iPhone ... look into my eyes, Mabs ... and repeat after me ... 'I am bigger, I am better, I am a beast. Now just add a touch of 'bastard' and you'll be unstoppable.'

He'll be fine! ;)
If he can get his act together he could monster games.

He will need to really step up because I reckon Balta and CCJ will move past him after this pre-season

If they where able to turn Mason Cox into a footballer, Mabior should be taking the game by storm!
Only taken Majak ten years to get to half way decent, Cholly's got plenty of time yet.

Half way decent, arguable. Don't think I'd want him on the Tigers list.

Bit harsh on Majak. From what I read n saw of him this year he seems to have finally found his niche n put together a reasonable season. Agree that I don't want him at Tigerland, we've got much better defenders, but he didn't have a bad year all up.

Better than past years but depth player at very best from what I saw. Last 3 or 4 games of the season probably the best consistent run of games he's ever put together but he's starts next season as a 28yo. So much time put in to get a year or two of acceptable footy. It just ain't worth it.

Cholly could be very similar, seems to drift n float more often than not during the few games I've seen him play. Then when he decides to impose himself into a contest or passage of play he's almost jaw dropping for a moment or two n then he floats off again.

l think we need to be putting more time into CCJ, Balta and Miller.

We also have Moore too and know he can play up fwd if required.

I think he either shows he can step up to the level in 2019 or it's a bust for Mabs. It's a highly competitive performance industry. Final year if he hasn't got the drive.

Yep that's what make it so frustrating. You get glimpses of what they can do but they can't (or won't) do it consistently or long enough.

For some reason I think a lot of people’s perception is that Majak is still “young” or developing but as you say he’s 28 going into 2019.

Played only 50 games in his 8 seasons.

Yep and that's in a team that has finished best 6th in that time and mainly around the 8th to 11th region so not even a top club where sometimes better players only get limited game time. North have kept him too long on the list. Chol started younger, but so far in 3 seasons has played 1 (forgettable) game. I wouldn't be against giving him a 4th season but if hes not making inroads by the end of next year you'd have to serious question his ability to make it at AFL level.

With Cal Moore's 1 year extension & move to the main list, where does that leave Marbs ?, same 2016 rookie draft (Dec 2015) so we need to delist or offer contract & upgrade

Thoughts ?

Chol drafted as a rookie at 198cm and 72kg

Now listed as 200cm and 92kg

So has grown 2cm and put on 20kg in 3 years. Still needs another 8/10kg

I would be keeping him for a while yet and see how much more improvement he can get out of himself.
