Goodbye Mabior Chol

Moore is more versatile but he'd also be more capable in the ruck than Grigg yet I don't think he's ever been used that way in the VFL. So, Moore comes in for Townsend but Chol's going to have to wait until Nank is hurt or needs a significant chop-out. I'd probably prefer Chol as second ruck over Soldo if we decide to go down the path of two true rucks.

I agree with you in hopes re Chol. What a load of talent he has in that leap, speed for a giant and lovely kicking. But where Soldo and Moore might have the edge at present is in their aggressiveness and ability to compete closer to 100% of TOG.

Mabior Chol

21 disposals, 12 hit-outs, six marks and five clearances

“One of his best games for the year, he turned the game in the last quarter. He was big in the air and also followed up at ground level.”

They call him Big Daddy. ;D

Get him in!!!

Not sure how many tackles he made, but he laid six the week before so his all round game is coming along nicely.

His latest VFL match (told you I was really impressed with the 1Q I saw) is more great news.

There's a litter of growling, big, bold, aggressive cubs getting ready to emerge from the lair down at PRO over 2018-20. At last. Just still have to hone how to hunt.

Thanks Leon.

Like your reports, Julius, and others who take the time to go and watch games and take the time to inform us of the progress of the VFL players especially the tall Cubs.

I hope the penny has dropped for Chol because it appears he is showing the potential and talent we saw in him.

Real exciting prospect who may still debut this year? What do you think Leon? Is it possible we may see Chol this year ?

Marb's made his debut in 2016 , played R 23 from memory

Is that right Taz?

Have to go check that out!

Just did. Gee I couldn't remember. Try to find some highlights. Nothing.

Yes, but will be much more ready next time. I think the guy still might not realise how good he can be.

Chickens don't always hatch though. Griffens, TV, McJesus, McKenzie all looked as good or better than Mabs, CuJo etc. We'll be doing well if two of Mabs, Balta, CuJo and Miller become better players than, say, Ray Hall.

Can remember Ray taking a pack mark in the dying seconds v Hawks when we were both the pits in a game we won by a couple of points. He wasn't that bad IMO.

Hmmm Ray Hall or Ty Vickery, I'll take Ray any day of the week. Not as much talent as TV but always tried his hardest.

Yes but the breathless expectations around each young tall we draft is well above Razor-level. History shows you're lucky to get one in three talls drafted to reach that level let alone a Rance or a Jack.

I love what Marb's athletic ability and he has the potential to become a freak,Probably 2 years away still from really competing for a starting 22 position but will be the perfect foil for Nankervis as they are very different types and would challenge the opposition ruckman and defenders.

Things he still needs a lot of work on are his tank as he is not able to maintain intensity levels for 4 quarters and needs a higher fitness base to play Ruck the way we are hoping he will as well as his ability to read the play needs to improve, Still gets caught out ball watching a fair bit and read the opposition play and cover space - But he has improved a fair bit and can see the difference to when he arrived.

But for a 3rd year Rookie Ruckman going perfectly to plan.
