Goodbye Mabior Chol

Still think he doesn't suit our pressure like game plan.

I think he has a long way to go in consistently applying the required pressure in our forward 50 to be effective enough.

That consistency of effort has been his biggest improvement this year IMHO

Is that cause he's black? :p

WTF does that mean? You implying my post was racist?

You don't think their pathway to football is similar, similar challenges etc? Both very gifted athletically but not born into the game. Both facing cultural challenges as well?

Please elaborate if you think I have somehow crossed the line with that post.

Yep, I'm sure we just saw it in the Sandy game.

Get Cholly in!!

Consistency getting better but he is still very inconsistent. Goes missing for long periods of the game. Did ok against Sandy He just can't get into the game enough. Defensively is doing good things but what does a 8 disposal average at VFL level equate to at AFL level? I don't think he's ready for AFL but we may not have a choice due to our lack of ready-made talls.

I missed the Sandy game as I was in Perth, it was the 1st VFL game i've missed in 18 months.

I disagree

I've seen last 3 games and I agree with me ;D

It may just be his gait, but he seems, not lethargic, but lacking urgency the way he moves. He's still raw though, and still improving.

absolutely, whether he can keep it up at AFL level remains to be seen

We will have to find out at some stage Taz. One thing to get better at VFL level but to continue his development he'll need AFL exposure. This week seems a good time to see if that percieved improvement transends to snr level.

I've worked out to stay safe MD. Never mention two people who are not white in the same sentence.

Probably a good strategy.

Unfortunately TOO has not had the courtesy to either remove his post nor explain what he meant. Nice.

Maybe I should have added that a guy like Cox from the Pies faces the similar challenges? Athletically gifted but not brought up on the game. Cox at least has a distinct height advantage and may make it more as a ruck rather than key position.

Sounds like Chol was 50//50 to play but they went with Moore. Personally I'd have gone Mabior as I see more upside overall but the powers that be have made their call.
Hope it works out with Cal but if not Marbs is next cab on the rank.

On what basis do you think it was 50/50?

Fair enough. We need to see both at some stage this year IMO. With Balta, CCJ and Miller coming from behind, we can only carry one of Mabs or Seymour into next year.

Hardwick presser this morning. It’s on the club website.

Ok fair enough. Personally I would have gone Chol over Moore too but I don't think either are ready for AFL level yet. Moore has the chance now, let's see if he can grab the opportunity.
