Goodbye Mabior Chol

Wow, barely a season & half into his career and people are writing him off. He's a 4 year project, given we invested so much time into Elton there's no way he'll be delisted.

Yep, I'm predicting he won't make just as you've predicted kids from the under 18s won't make it.

Well, clearly, you must be insane to keep following this club. It's like Catch-22.

He played quite well last week in the VFL. Another good performance and he might not be far away from a senior game.
Pressure remains on Elton to hold his spot. His output is very, VERY low.
Sure he's a work in progress, sure he's not quite ready yet but if Chol takes a step shortly the change will be made.

Yes Cholly, has oodles more raw natural talent than Elton (and probably Soldo). Hopefully he can harness those natural gifts.

pity he doesn't have Soldo's appetite for the contest & hard work

weve been trying to create cyber tiger-frankensteins for years Taz.

its fun, but never works.

Another on here that is over hyped far out rating his actually capabilities, and failings.

This guy has a looooong way to go.

Elton is not applicable as a comparison the fact Elton is still at the RFC is down to shambolic and completely incompetant list management.

I think he relishes the contest Taz. Needs consistency of effort.
Also needs to really develop his body on body work. That would see him smashed at AFL level currently.
Rutten & Leppa need to do a lot of work with him on that and Mabs needs to listen to them.

With our shortage of talls it's interesting that Stengle got promoted before Mabs.
Mabs has got all the tools but must be considered still a fair way off making it.
He just doesn't seem to read the play very well, and runs under the ball when in a marking contest.
Hopefully he can work on his deficiencies, because i like his physicality.

Could be that Mabs has a similar issue to Majak. Both seem to have plenty of instinctive natural athletic capability but struggle to comprehend the systems n structures required by the game at elite level.
Wankery got laughed at when he famously stated years ago that Majak wouldn't play fifty games while everyone else went into raptures about him after he booted a six for in his fourth game. Eight years in and Majak is still a long way from fifty games at a time when he should be at his peak n smashing holes in the comp.

Balmey was giving him a bit of a wrap yesterday , though he was pretty much saying what most who've seen him play say and that's he does some magic stuff but just not enough at this point, he also said he's doing a lot of things right at this stage but will take time. His one I'd hang on too

Yeah i think that is probably where he needs to improve, hopefully he uses Stengle promotion ahead of him as a spur.

Mabs is a natural footballer IMO. He's just very immature. He's with Fly but still needs time. I think we'll have a better idea in August.

One thing about Mabs. He was much more committed in the intraclubs and JLT than I've ver seen him. Then he went backwards. I'm glad I'm not a coach. Tough gig.

One thing I like about Mabs is he's a confident kid. Once he truly fills out and understands what a physical beast he is, we'll have a player.
