Goodbye Mabior Chol

If its between caddy and pickett, caddy for mine. More versatile and proven big game player that can impact games. Pickett just doesnt do enough to keep his spot and we pretty much know what we are gonna get. Low disposal numbers and usually very suspect by foot.

Such a frustrating player, he could be anything. With Soldo out we really needed him to show more intensity against the Crows.
He stays on the list, but he has gone backwards this season.

Did anybody see Aliir Aliir from swans in ruck gives a contest and does well that's all Chol has to do.

I've posted this a few weeks back but i will post it again.

We have to some how convince him that his number one objective is to get to the drop of the ball. If someone tried to block him, then run around the block, don't try to come in late over the top, because more often than not bodies will get in the way and the opposition will mark and clear.

I'd rather see Caddy played in his 2017 role in order to ensure the ball gets to the ground.

Chol did some good body work in the second half, but fumbled the marks. His first half, he was moved too easily or worse didn't get to the drop. I'm hoping he saved his mair for the week prior to finals. Cujo would be self flagulating right now.

He's played some great football this season but not lately. Can he turn it around?

Must be honest it really worries me going into finals with just one ruckman.
Talk of Caddy or anyone else talking that role is folly IMO.
As said before we have not gone with that kind of structure all season & Hardwick is a systems based coach.
Would we change that structure now heading into the biggest games of the year?
Especially after groin & ankle injuries to Nank past 12 months?
Very risky..

I tend to agree.

I am not happy about taking Chol into a final.

But realistically, I cant see Dimma changing our mix on the eve of finals to revert back to one ruckman (especially when it didnt seem to work earlier in the year). I also agree that it is unlikely that Balta would be moved now as well (given we usually like to train them in the role for a couple of weeks to get them up to speed).

Chol it is it seems. For better or worse.

For all those worried about going into a final with only one ruckman, I hate to break it to you but...............we've only got one ruckman.

My advice is settle down, hope Nank stays sound and enjoy our one ruck, super fast and skilled outfit for as long as it lasts.

If the worst happens I'd play the Balta wild card!!

Wild card, you want a wild card?

Stop the Bigoa Nyuon farce! The Marlion Pickett of 2020!!

We do need 2 rucks though, and I don't want to see Balta in the ruck, he is a developing key defender. Even less do I want to see Lynch or Riewoldt rucking. Can only hope Nank is as resilient as a tank.

Chol stepping up would be bloody useful too.

We don' t have two rucks!! We have ONE ruck. Soldo is broken. CCJ is (young and ) stupid

And Biggy has only one shoulder

Bigoa NyuonShoulderSeason

I don't think we should move Balta or ruck Lynch. We only have ONE ruck. Nank will have to shoulder 85% plus of the load the next month, Chop out might come from Kmac or Caddy or some other left field solution. If Nank breaks down THEN I would unleash Notorius simply on the basis that we no longer have any rucks and we might as well maximise our X factor!

OK, fire away at this suggestion but think Noah stays down back and Lynch stays up front so.....

give McIntosh a run in the ruck if we get desperate.

Good build, strength and great endurance. Good leap, and enough height to at least make a contest.

With you 100% Mabs isn’t a second ruck and doesn’t Deserve a game so we should keep playing to our strengths.

He's more of a 2nd ruck than Josh Caddy. He doesn't have to win the tap out to stop someone else winning one.
It's a risk to go with Nank alone but maybe a risk worth taking. Very hard to pick Mabs after last week. He ain't in my team.

That’s all you want.
A contest.
Yep, that's his role, he doesn't have to win the hitouts just interfere with their direction a bit. I saw Soldo win many hitouts and they went straight to the opposition yet we still won those games. The Pies and the Dees have arguably the best tap ruckmen in the game and their mids don't dominate. Dare I say ruckwork is over-rated...no, we can't say that can we?

Chol won't play

Boss move would to trade him, this year

We keep CCJ, Soldo, Nank.

if chol can go part of the way on getting Tom Greene or similar we should swoop

Looks like I am Chol's one and only fan.

People are stuck on what he can do in the ruck. He provides more than that.

I am not suggesting Chol is Natanui but he gives us that added flexibility up forward as well.

"As well" assumes he supplies something in addition to being a ruckman, which presumes that he provides anything as a ruckman.

He's not a ruckman.

I'm not completely off the Chol bandwagon. I mean, I've never been completely on it.

But if he's going to be a footballer it needs to be as a forward. He could be a very good forward. I firmly believe that he has improved his biggest weakness this year, and that his intensity and concentration is better. It's unfortunately still not good enough. But I wasn't convinced he could improve there at all, so there's hope.

But not as a ruckman.

That‘s the dilemma
Chol might not be a ruckman but neither is Balta or Broad or Caddy or [insert name of other available player]
Do we need to pick a bloke in the 22 as support for Nank - to give him the occasional rest or to take over if Nank happened to get hurt?
I’m buggered if I know and I keep changing my mind on the issue
If I had to choose right now I’d probably play Chol - just in case
