Golf

Played the Old and the Moonah at the National during the week , Old is slowly taking away a bit of the tea tree and are removing a couple of Bunkers after one of Jones’s team was out , I hate removing “ goomba” however helps speed of play , be interesting how “ clear” it ends up
Am hopefully playing there this Fri and Sunday. Weather looks good, cannot wait!

Be careful. The greens staff steal your golf ball down there. Walking off the tee, keep your eye on your ball in the fairway or green. They run out from the bushes.

C. Davis and M.W. Lee right in the mix in Datroooit.
Yes looking forward to it, but do you know their correct tee times? I think 3.30 for Min and 3.50 for Cam according to ESPN.
But can't see anywhere if that's definitely AEST. May as well go to bed and watch in the morning if correct.

An Aussie Wins on the PGA TOUR Cam Davis wins by 1 shot
Min Woo Lee tied for 2nd

And a little while ago both could have been in a playoff

But Davis has just won it while warming up on the practice fairway

Well done both Aussie boys

Good on him. Seems like decent guy. Lot of talent that, as IBF said yesterday, hasn't quite translated into the success it should have yet (not a great putter).

But boy, that was some of the worst PGA Tour golf I've ever seen in a final round by the last 4 or 5 groups on what's an easy course.

WTF was that by Bhatia off the tee on 13 ? Bloody hell that's something I'd do. Big snap hook, wooompf, straight into the trees. 100 yards.

Pretty bad standard of golf in that final round, not that Davo will care.

Great to see Micheluzzi back up last weeks top 10 finish, leading the BMW International. A big field with a few LIV golfers in ghe mix. He is showing he is a serious talent.

He played at my club for a while. Still a member. Strange sort of swing. Sort of really digs at the ball very late. Pretty good short game normally.

Another 59 on Tour. Hayden Springer.

Between courses that are too easy and absurd equipment developments the last 25 years, it's become a bit of a joke

Soooooft (literally) !

Heard he was at Cranbourne and is now PK? Co0nstantly improving player, good short game/putting. Hopefully can establish himself on the DP tour.

Most underrated course in Melbourne is Cranbourne .

Micheluzzi pound for pound one of the longer hitters out there

He is right inb this, started well, had a double bogey hiccup and recovered to shoot 4 under. That included hitting it in the water on 18 but still making par. Only 2 off the pace, just as good a chance as anyone. He certainly is sneaky long!

Mick making a bit of a mess of it so far. Not the best conditions however.
Yeh, another double-bogey early set him back but a great birdie-birdie-eagle finish to end up eq 2nd.

It was a huge field (not necessarily a lot of depth with Fox at 63 the highest ranked player) but that should give him a heap of confidence.

Played there a couple of times and was underwhelmed. Young guy called Chris Thorn was a trainee there I think, played with him once, my god he could play. Smash it 300m off the tee, could chip and putt. But didn't have the mental game. Did make the cut at Huntingdale in a PGA tournament and shot one of the lower Sat rounds but just didnt want it enough. But could hit it longer than anyone I ever played with
