Golf

rory oozing chipping confidence with his new special grind 60 degree...great to watch.
hopefully no more major eve public love life maneuvering.

DeChambeau scrambling is elite.

Rory dropping bombs everywhere.

Great finish coming up.

Why do we have to listen to Luke Elvy & James Nitties. Why don't get the yank feed the whole time??

They are destroying the coverage. Just so painful listening to them.

How disgraceful were the "USA" chanters after Rory missed his par putt on 18, continuing while he was standing over his bogey putt. If I was there I would have shouted, "Shut up you *smile* *smile*!"

What a complete and total meltdown by Rory. An absolute unadulterated choke. Missing not one, but two 3 footers over the last few holes. Just terrible. I knew he was going to lose when he missed the first one.

Non-Americans are no good under the gun in singles, individual competition. The Americans eat them for breakfast.

Yeh, some good analysis being done by the golf boys. They ain't missing him.

It was crazy really, he looked in complete control. It started with the overshoot of 15, it was the one place not to be when you have a 2 shot lead.

Had not missed inside 3 ft for his previous 497 putts. Just shows you what pressure does.

What a great game!

Meltdown alright and on his last shot for par. Where De Shambles hit the ball into a difficult rough, and then into a bunker but showed determination in his face instead of sulking to get the ball perfectly onto the green for par. Too many histrionics with this bloke but thought it out better.

Miles Davis WIns The 2024 PRE US Open Championship !

In one of the closest PRE major championship's, I am pleased to announce that Miles Davis Jazz is the new, PRE US Open Champion for 2024. Well done Miles ! That's your second major championship.

In a tough and excruciating PRE US Open, Miles wins with a collective 21 over, 1 shot ahead of myself at 22 over. Couldn't quite reel you in Miles with a final round best of -1. Your 4 over was good enough to hold on. Fitzpatrick's 79 in the 3rd round really cost me but getting all 8 players through the cut line was a massive effort, especially on a course like this. Good job Miles !

In third spot and joining us on the podium was Danners at 24 over. Very good championship for you Danners. 5 shots further back in 4th place at 29 over is Nobet Pays. Shoots the 2nd best score of the final round with a 2 over. (Might have to check my scoring....no way Nobets does that well ???). Toigs just can't quite get it going this week and finishes 5th at 30 over.

Under pressure to not finish last, Mr Burnside shoots the 4th best score of the day ! (5 over), to bolt well clear of Tigerforce who, with his 1990's throwback team brings up the dreaded stern. Might have to give away all these 'Tour Champion' blokes you keep selecting Forces.

Brutal course the ole Pinehurst No.2. Not really sure about these Donald Ross designed greens. That second shot into the 5th green by Rory was ridiculous. Just as I predicted at the start of the week, that green and the 9th was going to cause some discussion. Anyway, Rory completely blows it anyway. Very disapointing. De Chumpo whilst getting every lucky break imanginable off the fairway, still plays some gutsy golf and gets it done. Non American players around the world need to toughen up mentally. They give way to the Americans time and time again. Sick of it.

If I need to correct anything, let me know. Otherwise, we now move onto Royal Troon in a few weeks time for the final major of the year - the British Open. The last chance to get on the PRE Major Champions Honour Board. Moopsgomerie is already burning the midnight oil on this one I feel.

Well done to all that played, especially Miles who takes out the 2024 PRE US Open Championship. See you in a few weeks at Troooon och aye !

No more. I picked those 2 in hope they could be a dark horse. Time to get a new list manager for the British open.

Thanks for running again Red. Helps getting all 8 through the cut, although only one under par round on the weekend from any of them.

Tough course, although the native area is not as penal as they talked up. I rarely saw balls dead. Definitely not as penal as thick rough or trees.

Doubt I would break 100 there.

Well done Jazzman top win. Putting together a nice CV of PRE wins this year.

Bad luck Red, very close in 2nd place. Another very well run event by your good self.

I barely saw any of the opening rounds, but enjoyed the weekend of golf. Nice to have a course where they have to think their way around as opposed to flying it at the flagstick every time.

Dechump just mainly smashed it anywhere and rode his luck. The rough wasn't very penal at all.

1st and 2nd basically the 2 longest hitters in the game. Would be interesting to see how BDC would have played it if there was thick rough. Royal Troon should sort him out.

Sometimes wonder why he hits driver as often when he can hit the 3-Wood 320 yds more accurately.

I feel for Rory, he's stuck by the PGA and that horrible exhibition basically says, we don't want you, yore not one of us.
No wonder Monahan had Rory as their poster boy, if it all goes pear shaped he can throw the Irishman under the bus. Is time for Roryto jump ship?
