That was just Chamblee saying if the best players aren't made to play a certain number of events then private equity might be needed to supplement the prizemoney as the sponsors etc will drop off if ratings aren't good enough.

I've always thought less is more when it comes to elite sport.

The NFL have it down pat. 16 Games only. Leave fans wanting more.

The AFL should be 17 rounds only. Play each team once. One year at home, the next away.
Right. He’s probably correct where making them play a certain number of events is concerned. Extend that to certain number of specific non-primo events too.

Problem with the NFL analogy though MD is that there’s 32 teams serving 32 cities across the USA. Might just be 17 games, but the coverage is broad. You play just 17 PGA Tour events at just 17 locations, and a lot of cities and fans miss out.

A bit of a shame that LIV has turned out to be a dud. They added 6 new players to their 2023 roster, Mito Pereira, Sebastian Munoz, Dean Burmester, Brendan Steele and Danny Lee..........wow, very underwhelming !! They would have been hoping to lure a few bigger names. Don't know where LIV will be in a year or two.
It has given the PGA a bit of a shake up though, which is a good thing.

Heard Lord McIlroy say there is unhappiness amongst the players about the changes that have been made.

When you look at it the PGA tour has really made it compulsory for the best guys to play 20+ weeks each year between the designated events, majors, other big tournaments and a lead in to the Open, and more if they also play European Tour stuff.

It might well be a catalyst for more top players to say I'd rather have the cash to play 14 plus majors with LIV.

Time will tell, has been very underwhelming thus far.

Woodsie with more off course problems.

Besides the fact Jack was the better golfer, he (along with Arnie and others) CERTAINLY lived a classier and less problematic off course life.

If he's not careful he's going to blow his chances at playing the Masters.
After I get Woodsie off the Zoom and can hopefully get him to strengthen that grip of his (and a few other faults), I’ll give him a call and sort things out for him.

Rory has a bad round and the experts now saying he is tired and distracted.

Players should be backing Rory up more and not let him take all the bullets.

It's almost like he's the only player in the game.

Now that Woodsie is single again, he's just gripping it and ripping it.

Back on the domestic front, anyone played any courses worth visiting on the drive from Melbourne to Adelaide?

Heading over for the LIV event in April and considering whether to drive or fly. I'm playing in the pro-am so would like to play a few rounds in the lead up so I don't embarrass myself.

Will be there for gather round so have a week to play in Adelaide, thinking it might be nice to find a couple of hidden gems out there if they exist and stop a couple of days on the drive over for a hit.

Why stop at Adelaide, you should play the Nullarbor Links.
