I think Speith and Hatten should be made to play together for the rest of the year, so they can learn how painful their type of player is to play with

Gutsy comeback by Kitayama not just today, but yesterday as well.

Disappointed an alligator didn’t eat Spieth and Hatton. Those two are utterly unbearable with their endless “not my fault” whining after every bad shot or putt.

About time the commentators grew some balls and called them out for their ongoing petulance.

Watching Shuffler this week, thought I noticed a nervy putt or two so I went and checked his stats. 100th for shots gained putting. That’s not good for a number 2 in the world.

Having said that, he was only 58th last year. Would never have guessed that. Seemed to hole everything last year.

Jason Day’s numbers trending well.

Great finish coming up in the Arny.

Spieth doing Spieth things. Can't hit a fairway yet made his way to the lead. But you can't sustain not hitting fairways and greens.

Anyone's trournament.

Jason Day at 5 under and just outside top ten continuing his good form
The course got its own back on Speith at the end after he recovered from some really ordinary driving with a series of very good, or lucky?, one putts. Missed some gettable ones at the crunch though.

Not for the first time, I found the complete lack of any 'live' coverage of JDay, apart from some early glimpses on his starting holes before the big name and US golfers, hit off. After that, he must have been abducted by aliens, Mexican drug bandits or turned into a ghost. Never showed anything more of Day thereafter - just occasionally his name appeared on the fluctuating score table. Little idea of where/how he finished until the very end, when it was all over.

I have noticed this lots with the Foxtel/Kayo coverage and it infuriates me. We get plenty of footage of other random players who are not even under par, not remotely in contention, but Aussie players often seem ignored. Is it a directive from Aussie traitor Rupert, since he's not getting his way politically over us anymore (nor even over there in his adopted/bought home country now after average backing dirty loser, Trump)?

I'm pretty sure I even saw this neglect of our players in events last year with Cam Smith - almost ignored in coverage until he suddenly came-home late with a wetsail. Want to wrote a filthy letter objecting to this unprofessional approach to the company; just not quite sure who/where to direct it.

RE JDay, great to see his progress after such a tough time, but wish he would shut up publicly expressing his deep ambition to return to No.1. Just see if you actually threaten to win a PGA tournament again first, Jason. And Herbie and Min Woo Lee demonstrating how far they are off PGA pace still on this very tough course. The DP tour must be about 10-20 shots inferior scoring to the US tour I'd say.

Hatten is the best entertainer in golf ... because he's absolutely nuts! Would be great, so amusing, to have him miked up, but expect the bleep button would require constant monitoring.
Really, he should be rebuked for his ridiculous and frequent throwing of his quality golf balls into the water hazards. So childish and dumb - as if the ball's to blame for your shot, Tyrrell. But it must be polluting too - not sure what contaminants must leach into the water when they eventually break down.

I could be totally wrong here, but I’m pretty sure we just get coverage through NBC or CBS in the states depending who’s broadcasting it over there.

Reckon he holes the crucial ones and not much else.
Possibly. But he missed a couple of critical ones on the back 9 on Sunday at Bay Hill. One in particular looked a bit quivery.

He’s an interesting golfer. Unconventional swing, comes over the top a bit, but hits it very solid and straight. Was a junior and college strong man. Very hard to beat. But it’ll be interesting to see how he goes over the longer haul, especially with that short game.

I can't believe he does so well to be honest. Every time I see him win he is playing poorly but will drain a 30 footer or 3 10 footers in a row just at the right time.

Reckon he is mentally pretty elite, despite the nonsense he believes in.

I’m the same with Spieth.

Geez aren't the golf shows lapping up and promoting the PGA tour changes! Chamblee couldn't get any further up Rory's arse.

And Eamon Lynch another *smile*.

Chamblee saying the PGA tour are innovating and evolving........wonder why?

Chamblee’s livelihood depends upon the success of the PGA Tour - as it does for a lot of people. Just that Chamblee is more amped about it than most and has a microphone and tv camera.

He cut up rough last year when McGinley - quite correctly - pointed out that the PGA Tour brought a lot of this upon itself.

Chamblee and Lynch both I suppose depend on the PGA tour gravy train. And don't they hate Norman! Lynch is thoroughly unlikeable.

Not sure who I've come to dislike more, Chamblee or McIlroy.

Did I hear something about private equity firms investing into the PGA Tour ?
That was just Chamblee saying if the best players aren't made to play a certain number of events then private equity might be needed to supplement the prizemoney as the sponsors etc will drop off if ratings aren't good enough.

I've always thought less is more when it comes to elite sport.

The NFL have it down pat. 16 Games only. Leave fans wanting more.

The AFL should be 17 rounds only. Play each team once. One year at home, the next away.
