Golf

Pretty amazing from Sheffler. And he's only 26. Seems older. Nothing stopping him going back to back at Masters.

Rory has a bad round and the experts now saying he is tired and distracted.

Players should be backing Rory up more and not let him take all the bullets.

It's almost like he's the only player in the game.
What? Poor little Rory!

All the changes that the US PGA tour has introduced prompted by the challenges posed by LIV have been to the benefit of their top-tier players like Rory. He seems to have appointed himself as the chief PGA defender and attacker of Norman and LIV.

Crying all the way to his already very cash-overflowing bank I'd say.

[Not that I'm taking the LIV side but both tours are commercial, capitalist entities with questionable moral values]

While I agree that Rory has been a bit too outspoken on Liv and should probably have left it up to the uspga to do the defending of there comp, I don’t know if it has anything to do with money. He would have been offered huge amounts of money to do the same. I think he preferred the previous system either cos of the unity the players had or it was a moral standpoint.
I don’t see how the morals of the uspga and the Liv can be compared. The LIV tour is completely Saudi government backed, which, let’s face it have been horrendous when it comes to human rights. The USPGA is not strictly a US government run competition, so to bring up the US and their questionable values doesn’t really compare.
I actually like Rory, and think he’s a good ambassador for the game and I think he’s been treated a bit harshly.

$cotty $cheffler is the widow maker, he played the first 2 rounds with Rory And Rahm, Rory missed the cut and Rahm pulled out after the first round.
He just keeps on grinding, like he did in the Ryder Cup against Rahm and Cantlay in the Phoenix open last year, then Smithy in the Masters and now Min Woo, he tears their heart out.

Yeh, he's got the ability to score without playing great. Interesting listening to him speak after the round and talk about managing his way around the course.

I said a few weeks ago he has a strong history as a bit of a bulldog. Very good junior and college career. He’s always been hard to beat.

Might have the odd bad round, but he was the leading player tee to green last year and again this year.

From 2004-10, he won nearly 60% of his starts on the Northern Texas PGA Junior Tour, he had 74 wins, he's a winner.

Needs to improve off the tee. Something like 139th or so for accuracy off the tee this year. 70 something last year and in the 100+ ranking years before. That’s not good.

Cost him big time today. Even missed a couple of fairways with irons off the tee.

Augusta will suit him where there’s a lot of room off the tee.

Yeh, Augusta suits guys that are long but can spray it. (Bubba & Mickleson) As long as they have a creative short game. And MWL appears to have that.

Only 3 weeks to go...

Teaser! Here I am, waiting ... o_O
Changing the golf ball.

It will be rolled back for professional events with, apparently, between 15 to 30 yards less distance off the tee.

In other words, reducing the distance performance of the golf ball back to something like a 1990’s equivalent for elite or professional events.

Wow, that's massive.

I know ANGC had been talking about doing something similar for years, as in creating their own golf ball for players to use to help protect the course against improving technology.

How will this work? All manufacturers required to produce balls under a strict set of guidelines I assume? Interesting to see how they go about policing it.

So the return of the Hot Dot ;)
