GAMEDAY v hawks Round 23

Can’t have a midfield with Taranto, Hopper , Graham, Ross , Prestia and Dow. We can only keep Ross and Taranto and the rest have to be either traded or delisted. Injuries or not we won’t win games if more than two of these start in our lineup. Draft is crucial now hunting for the best.
How do we offload an injury prone Hopper with 5 years left of a contract at $750k a year? That would truly be a miracle.

Can't see it, not so much the wage but the length of contract remaining considering his propensity to injury. Even now he s running like an old man, still looks injured to me.
Fingers crossed he has uninterrupted preseason. He needs to put in alot of kms in into those legs. If we get 2 good serviceable yrs we should be happy
That's our only hope.

*I'm more worried about Tarranto's lack of effort

Shocking Nank. Team has some momentum and he gives away a clumsy free and stupid 50m.

Give the captaincy to Broad.
That was a real turning point. Love Nank but geez that was poor discipline and a shocking example to the kids. The free kick was unnecessary and dumb, he doubled down.

It’s so depressing thinking about it. Only future is he becomes our VFL captain then. 😂

He’s providing a valuable cap filling service while the kids enter the nursery

Always does it. *smile* me to tears. Complete lack of leadership as Captain.

Disappointing game.

Hawthorn turned it on for a quarter, then cruised for the rest of the game. Yes, we were better after quarter time, but the heat had gone out of the game.

The usual problems we have seen all year.

Every time you looked Hawthorn had players ready to receive, they were well clear of the pack. We rarely have outlets and when we do they are too close to the pack and not in enough space.

Hawthorn had more players at the contest (and that is on top of having more outlet players as mentioned above).

When we passed the ball it was to a player under pressure and often at their feet.

We don't move to receive, we are too static.

Etc.

There is a lot of work to do. The injuries don't help, but we need to address more than that. There is a lack of confidence but that is greatly contributed to by the lack of skills.

Time to recruit some better players and work on the skills, work on the skills a lot.

We are just not up to the level at the moment, it is going to take a few years to get going again.

Yze needs players and needs support from assistants he chooses.

Can't believe we won the free kick count. The 50m penalties were a joke. Didn't see that what Nank did was worth 50m, but not 10 minutes earlier one of our players was wrestled to the ground after a mark or free, there was a Hawthorn player alone at least 5m in front of the Hawthorn player on the mark, but no 50 - why is that?

How he has been most of his tigers career. Low impact. We get pick 25 for him and it is a steal.
got a stinger in the shoulder in the first term. Was playing sore, then whacked a bloke.

Lkely last game in yellow and black but a Tiger Champ.

Yeah, the momentum killer has had 14 disposals, 9 contested possies, 5 tackles, 25 hitouts but let's focus on the 50 where most other teams would have been given more time.
No Nank deserved that. He invited the 50. Was there and deservedly paid. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Changed the momentum.

Love him but that was poor.

Let's not join the Hawthorn love fest
They brought in 3 average footballers into a super fit running team.
Chol was at his laconic best today. Shouldve kicked 5.
Gillivan was by himself all day and Ambrossi is ok. But Let's not get carried away.
They're 1 loss away from joining us.

GTFO Short ...........part of the problem not the solution
I bet he gets votes of plenty for his metres gained. He is such a liability defensively. And plenty call him a star.

Turning point?
The game ended for us the minute he decided to give away a sloppy free and then top it off with a 50.
