GAME DAY Tiges v Suns

So 1 of the last 2 modern top teams won a flag in their 5th year?

And the 2nd of those teams won a 4th flag a couple of years earlier?

So every great modern football club has won multiple premierships over a window that spans 5 years and over, and we’ve only had 4 years so far..?

Modern clubs stay at the top for a decade.
Brisbane 3 peat and got smacked in their 4th year.
Hawthorn 3 peat and then lost in a SF.
Geelong 07/09/11.
Richmond 17/19/20 and then unlikely to make the 8 in year 5.

The lack of defensive running was really bad. We really miss Lambert and Prestia. I am not sure we can win another game this year.

Usually like your stuff.
On the money with a couple but only last week you were confident of a turnaround.
Chin up.

Yeah you're probably right Zgod.

But... Gold Coast. They were out on their feet in the last quarter. How we conspired to lose that game is truly beyond me.

I think the guys just know within themselves it's over. And when you've won 3, injuries every other week, screwed By the umpires in key moments, it just becomes a battle to get up and run and run and run.
We kept the band together, probably at the point of some hurt. Retiring Houli last year and keeping Markov may have helped. But we need to get games into mids. Cotchin is toast. I love him. But he's done. The decline has been coming slowly (keep in mind it took ages to get his body right as a junior), but its acceleration is now going to beat him unless he calls time quickly.
Jack, he's only staying because he's taken a pay cut to keep others. Otherwise, he's gone too.
We need to refresh. Rebuild. Our time has come. I'll miss it.

Disagree on Jack, still playing ok footy.

Its sad top see the decline of the skipper but as you say, his acceleration is shot. That was his one wood, burst from stoppage. He's never been a great kick, good enough to get it moving, but it was his burst that gave him the advantage and he doesn't have it anymore.

Martin possibly worst on ground

I'll bet she some high maintenance Influenczer type like ??? .............. (OK, that's not really my field of excellence I must admit, but I do know they all have Big Duck lips, 3 inch eyelashes, hair extensions, hugeee arses and lotsa botox injections)

Is it just the last 2 games?

I am wondering why Leppa left now, said he'd had enough of footy life, but his name comes up a lot in regards to coaching. He even commentates as though he has no connection at all with us.
Do you remember Leppa at Brisbane?
Injuries and age is the reason we aren't playing well.
*The umpires haven't helped

Score flattered us tonight. Time to plan for 2022 & there’s no reason why we can’t contend but this season is over.

Cotchin, Houli. Astbury and Reiwoldt showed why 2021 should be the end for them.
nah. when you're down everything looks bad. Baby and bathwater stuff. DTLD and Houli yes, Cotch and Jack no.

While I do agree on Houli, I will also say he was one of our best in the last, kept us in it, his star is well and truly waning but still putting in.

I don't think he trusts his strings anymore, but that amounts to the same thing.

Belllis on Fox. Can see he still loves out club and is almost guilty that he beat us.

Also can't help but think that he might have staked a claim for skipper if he was still around.

One of my fave ex tiges is Bellis. Love the guy and would have him back in a heartbeat
Looked a bit worried rather than jovial. I reckon he knows something given they're still close mates.

Ditto ... it's baffling ... and it started with 10 mins to go against the Eagles ..

yeah i agree. Until then we were spluttering,

and then we lost our splut.

weve had one richmond passage of play in 8 1/2 quarters.

Shocking took us to the cliff, and we fell off,

Like you say, with 10 minutes to goin perth

Ah some controlled perspective. Nice to see.

Bachar looks gone but he truly knows when a game is on the line. Love him for that.

Gee it hurts real bad to be *smile*. Imagine how bad it must hurt if you supported Lollingwood, Essendrugs or Carltank!
I am 41.
I have plenty of practice.
The last 4 years have been amazing.
Reached its zenith in late 2019 when I watched any game I knew we would win, replaced the hope and fingernail biting of years gone by. I learnt "trust the system".
An amazing team. Still reckon there is a flag in the group.
Next year or possibly in 3 to 4 years.
