Game Day Tiges v Port

To be really serious threats we really need to win 5 of the last 6 and need to start getting our players back from the return.

We will beat these teams this is now the business end with 6 games to go, Suns, Bombers, Crows, Freo

Cats and Eagles we will play them at either Metricon or Gabba (need to win at least 1) and top 4 will be sowed up.

I think it might end up pretty tight in the 3rd-8th positions so you never know. I suspect Brisbane and Port will be top 2, possibly West Coast 3rd and then its open for anyone to finish 4th.
I just hope the finals are in QLD. If we can finish top 4 we will be in it up to our eyeballs. Even if we finish outside top 4 we're a big chance although no margin for error. I'm not as confident if we have to play West Coast in Perth or even Port in Adelaide; we don't have a great record on that skinny ground.

With the benefit of a few hours reflection and a few gins. That’s a game that creates a premiership. The other side were good, tackled brilliantly. They have slept in their own beds for a month. We learned a bit. Under heat - eggs and Daniel need to improve. George needs a rest. Camden, Shai and Mabs can be relied on. Six dual premiership heroes to fit in. Let them have this one.

Free kicks were 22 11 ports way. The umps made alot of mistakes today but the commentators only went on about the ones that went against port.

Anyone else having problems with Kayo stopping with an error "global rate limit exceeded"?
Yes - I deleted and then updated the app and it fixed the problem

# just updating may have worked, also there was an iOS update for iPads I downloaded yesterday, i think Kayo needs to be updated as soon as they are released or it wigs out

Had we been able to reach 2nd on the ladder we win the GF played at the Gabba simple.

If we make a GF at the Gabba with our best fit we win it doesnt matter who it is against.

That Giants loss still makes me ill, as for the draw and Jacks failure to register a point from 35 out ......fml.

That Giants loss of 4 points might well be the difference between a QF in Perth or Adelaide or even a bloody EF.

Best result for Tigers is for a Brisbane Q/F again against the Bears ideally .... win it we go to Prelim in QLD and avoid Adelaide and Perth.

Here is the kicker as of round 11

Bears have played 8 of 11 in QLD yet complaints about our draw last year.

Dont see em playing too many more away from there either.

1 at the MCG round 1 - non covid.

and 2 in Sydney.

Ridiculous yet the media are blowing smoke up their arse.

Just shows you how much you need you're best players on the park. We can't win the flag with the team we put out tonight. Hopefully we get them all back soon. Cotchin and Houli for Egg and Rioli will be a good start next game.
Think we have been guilty of over rating our depth. Against Nith Dogs get away with it ... But the centre clearance numbers were appalling. Two AA and a premiership B&F needed there ... the substitutes won't take us much further.
And that glaring weakness gave them so many forwards forays that backs were on back foot all night. That 10 gamer must be thinking how easy is this footy caper? For a brief 4 day period I was thinkiNg maybe Dave A has been made redundant but missed him tonight. Bacha walk back in and get the pill out of the d50 please.

Well said mate! The Gabba is our home away from home. If Lions can't even beat us there no one will.
Don't get me started on that loss to GWS, 15 more inside 50;s, more scoring shots and lost by 2 goals. That game we had 7 out but even saying that thought we let that game slip.
The pies game we had the last four shots for 3 behinds and one didn't make it (Jack lol) how he couldn't make the distance from 35 out is beyond me. Even a point and we win. They are all whingers, wow lions what a dream draw they don't leave QLD. 14 out of 17 at home unbelievable.
The eagles crying early on when they went to the hub and now will play more in Perth no more sooking it seems. They will need to go back to GC in the last 3-4 games, Adam Simpson has stated that's what he expects.

Adam Simpson said that they are expecting to go back to QLD hub. Not sure how that works. Meaning if all finals will be in QLD? or do eagles and port go back to their states to play finals? Wouldnt they have to quarantine. We'll know soon enough.

Well this has been quite a thread.

I attempted to watch on Kayo, it dropped out a few times and when it dropped out again (claiming some sort of error) early in the last I was supposed to be in an online catch up with friends so gave up. Looks like I didn't want to see the last quarter anyway.

First thing I will say is what a game. It was a cracker. Massive pressure from both sides. We came back a few times, maybe not deserved but pretty bloody good with such an inexperienced side.

A number of players down that's for sure. Eggy seems a little off AFL level but I reckon persist. Stacky and Rioli really need to find some form. No idea what is wrong with Castagna, has credits, but is starting to run out.

As is often the case when we get beaten, we lost it in the centre. I am less convinced by the idea we can lose it in the centre, rely on scoring from rebounds and still win against genuinely good teams. Apart from anything else you just can't let the opposition get good clearances. We need to get better in the middle.

The defence were under siege, could have been better, too many easy crumbed goals to Port, but they need to be less under siege. The defence will be back, had a slightly off night and combined with being under siege we let too many goals through.

That said, for all that Port were genuinely very good, if I was Port I would be seriously worried about how much their defence let through. Teams who win Grand Finals do not let their opposition score that many times given our low number of inside 50s. That is precisely the sort of defensive performance which does not survive finals.

With a few players back and not allowing Port such clean and easy clearances from the middle I reckon we would beat them.

Plus, we will learn from the loss, I doubt they will learn from the win.

I totally agree.
The sad part about yesterday is port can’t and wont play better then that.
We need to get better in the midfield
