Game Day Tiges v Port

Deep breath...
Great game.
Awesome pressure experience and hostile crowd for young blokes.
Had some passengers (egg was really poor) and caddy looked so slow.
Horrendous umpiring, but we've come to expect that.
4 day break and travel.
That was all they had. You could tell how much it meant to them. But you don't get cups in August.
We have a good history of NOT losing to teams twice.
Just need a bit of luck and get some players back.
Nank, Cotch, Dion, Bachar, shedda and astbury play and they don't get near us.

Port supporters crack me up, when they lost to saints they complained about the 4-day break. Try 4 days and traveling 2 hrs 40 mins on the same day of the game.
They won good for them but geez take out Ladhams, Boak, Wines, Robbie Grey, Darcy B Jones, and Houston and we would annihilate them.

Can't wait until the A team is back together, Nankervis, Cotchin, Prestia, Edwards, Houli, and Astbury

I gave it to Rioli first half and rightly so but I will say right now his 2nd half was very good, well done Dan :clap2

They have to get back and find form quickly, having not played much this year. The more games they miss, the less leeway we have.

We get a chance to slip back into the groove against the Suns, who play a style that suits us. Then Essendon which is a danger game IMO given Caracella's intel.

I think our defence murders their current forward line TBH.... even if they win in the midfield/ball movement.

Apparently 25-5 centre clearances in Port's favour. I know for some reason we don't value this aspect of the game but that is beyond the pale. You can't win a game of footy handing first use to your opponents in those numbers.

Cotchin and Prestia will help.
Need a player change up at centre square. Baker needs to be part of midfield rotations plus time to try Collier-Dawkins.

Can't see Edwards making it back and Prestia will be touch and go. Some others could be underdone. No guarantees about even playing finals yet. Gold Coast won't be a walk in the park either. Danger game!

Lose either of those and we are right back in the pack if not in real danger of not finishing high enough to impact (missing top 4) and ending up in Perth or Adelaide for a cutthroat final.

The Kochies, Bears and Eagles have had a chance to refresh at home and amass points on their home decks and could most likely have enough up their sleeves to sew up top 4 spots even allowing for dropping a couple in the last month.

The draw against the Maggots and the loss to the Giants will prove critical as we all knew they would.

Today's whilst not the end of the world and a timely reality check to get our blokes switched on but we've near run out of allowable losses.

To be really serious threats we really need to win 5 of the last 6 and need to start getting our players back from the return.

Yes, our young midfielders got a lesson from a far more experienced Boak 275 games, Rockliff 198, and Wines 150.
As you say Cotchin and Prestia will make a big difference.

The midfield was shallow after Dusty and Shai. Lambo had one of his worst games for a long time.

Lambos had 5 odd bad games this year, along with todays game he was horrid after the season return until he got his best on game against the Deez in round 5.

He was poor in rounds 2, 3 and 4, and was very quiet last week against the Bears.

1 to us, 8 to them. They should be ahead on the count, but that is absolutely disgraceful.
The Martin-Caddy double brain-fade, 100m penalty would have killed off 10% of our team's energy, especially for the youngsters looking for experienced heads to set an example.
they showed Dimma in the box and he was shaking his head at the dusty fifty but you could lip read Dimma saying “get out of the way “ to caddy, when he gave up a disappointing and undisciplined 50. *smile* like that must deflate the whole team. We need to be better than that and don’t the umpires love the starring role?

True but in all honesty, we should beat bombers, i don't rate them.

I actually think Dixon is overrated but he is a massive unit. He has the ability to dominate smaller and inexperienced opponents. Dave is not inexperienced; Noah is. In a year or two Noah will handle Dixon.
He's both under and overrated, Rids. Mass, space, velocity. Footy. He's big. But he fluffed a couple of moments, and wasn't above flopping.

Dixon is three inches bigger than any of our backs. (Two in the showers.)

With cotchin out surprised graham didn't play as ports big body mids destroyed us

With Kayo problems - I kept getting an error message and drop out during the game and just did a software update for the app and my device which seems to have fixed it
Kayo is 45 seconds delayed! Had to get rid of it and go to Foxtel who show it live! Can’t watch the Tiges delayed! Live or nothing
