GAME DAY Tiges v Pies

This thread is a great read.

Collingwood are a good team and in fly, they have a very good coach.

However, the media loves a darling. Collingwood is their darling atm. A dream narrative. Keeps the masses tuned in to their football shows which validates the fat pay checks given to so many who commentate on the game.

The fireworks were funny. The response of the younger Daicos towards our Maurice simply petulant. Ego ergo error.

Let them enjoy March glory.

Reckon we are not yet done!

I was really disheartened to see Collingwood treating The MCG like Metricon Stadium last night;

'Make some Noooooiiiiiisssssseeeeee' over the PA,

Fireworks, lightshow, they even introduced all their players on the scoreboard like boxers walking into the ring

'And make some noise for No.30, your captain, daaaaaaaaarrrrrrrcccccccyyyyyyyyy Moore'

It was honestly like a Gold Coast game.

Made me want to :vomit

Please tell me Tigers dont disrespect The G like that?

The kiss cam at half time was the most interesting thing that happened in the first 80 minutes.

Also some of the MRJ bashing is a joke. Kid is doing the chasing and tackling of 3 blokes. He actually sacrifices his game each week to cover our slow fwd line. Disposal is sometimes off as he is fatigued when in possession. If he were allowed to play his own game and concentrate on kicking goals and doing his thing he would be a marvel. Desperately needs some support forward of centre.

Not unhappy with the effort , Pies are bloody good imho . Imho we need speed and class through the middle , The Sonz is a must for me , also hope we persist with Clarke

I don't really understand any criticism of our defence or any of our defenders.
It was down there a lot & they worked damn hard. They kept us close.

Sidebottom was laying on the ground at the time, and put the ball down, before back heeling it. Free kick 99 times out of a 100.
Ahh come on bigwow, don't be so pedantic. Sidearse flapped a foot in the general direction of the ball, that's close enough to a stat.

Its started all ready. The hate squad is back.
'The score flattered Richmond"
Maybe yes. But bad kicking is bad footy.
They missed properly 5 shots. But flappers, Mansell and Lynch missed basic set shots too.
They out played us YES, but the score wasn't flattering
Don't know what drills we do re:kicking when fatigued, but that's the kind of drills they need to do. We gotta stop these "up and under" deliveries into the F50 or we'll continue to get picked of and make it hard for TL19 and JR8. That what we need Duz for the most, the drill, low to the ground straight on the forwards chests on the lead. Fix that, and our game is going to hurt teams!

Yep. Truck has made a huge difference already.
Also think Young is going to be a brilliant defender for years to come. We have really found one here

Young is finding his feet and solely concentrating on defense. Dimma said in his presser next step is to add offense to his game. This should be relatively easy as I have seen it at the lower level and at training, he is a good mark, has speed and is a good kick but understandably at the moment he is just looking to do the one percenters and giving his opponents the respect they deserve.
He will be more of a Grimes replacement than Tarrant and his growth will continue apace.
Agree @dimmauchamp an unexpected boon for our defence now and more importantly the future.

Positives from the game.
Colonwood blew an opportunity for a % boosting obliteration of the Tiges.
Samsung, Nigel, the Cummerbund, Raaallph, Toby Tylar, Moju, Rossy n Clarkey all got the development opportunity of game time against good opposition in front of a massive raucous crowd. Priceless night in their growth and development.

Overall not much else to write home about.

I agree Caesar. I was thrilled with Tylar’s game last night. He took Mihocek’s one wood off him - finding open space on the lead. Except for one good contested mark Mihocek was irrelevant. Looking forward to Tylar’s next 30 games of footy!

Jack Crisp is the best Trade of AFL history.
Pure runner and finisher. Kane Lambert in a Collingwood jumper.
Not only did Brisbane lose Crisp they lost the opportunity to draft Degoey all for a bloke that was a mess by they time he arrived in Brisbane.. but Brisbane are use too recruiting messes

Love no names that show something. Besides a shitt kick across the goals he was solid

Totally agree. Its these gems that pop up seemingly out of nowhere that allow teams to continue to be in contention. Tiges need to follow this protocol if we want sustained success as we will always be lagging in top round draft picks.
Not sure people realise just how good this kid could be. Has Grimes written all over him. Great find!!

With no ruckman, how about these expert media gurus realise Scumwood's 1 goal final quarter is a possible sign of wearing out.

Their game next week at the Gabba will show it.

Wow, how precious are the umps becoming. Free kick or dissent or having your arms out and saying "hows that not a free", now equals a free kick at the top of the square. Rough.
