Yeah I thought he was down on what we would normally expect from Dan. Disposal was very ordinary all night.
I’ve been reading this website for a while now and never posted.
There are a few things that make this website great to read for someone like me, the training reports from Caesar, the inside views on trading and drafting from quite a few people and the injury reports from TBR.
I don’t know TBR from a bar of soap but he/she is clearly an intelligent poster with lots of knowledge about the game. After reading what they said about deliberate out of bounds I actually began to understand the rule for the first time. Holding the ball the same. Not to say I always agree but at least I see where the umpires are coming from now.
My own view is that the things that have been said to TBR in this thread are completely out of line and shouldn’t be allowed. He/she is always respectful and never resorts to the sort of abuse they cop.
It’s been noticeable that they haven’t posted all day today, I hope they haven’t been scared off because the website would be worse for it. Just my two cents.
We played some dumb wet weather footy. - dinky kicks and handballs putting teammates under pressure. Too much finessing. We were better when it dried out a bit.
They’ll also give one if a player dares to gesture towards the scoreboard where the screen is showing their error to the crowd.
Once someone resorts to personal abuse / name calling and not the subject itself then that tells you what it tells you.
Great post. I think TBR has pretty thick skin though.
I think there are always two debates going on. Common sense / what rules should be which is not always the same and secondly what the rules are and state. They get bundled up together sometimes in people’s arguments / passion.
Sometimes there is even a third debate about what the written down rules even mean. (See insufficient intent).
The one that really stuck out like dogs balls was Noah Balta in the last quarter, winning the pill at half back and missing a dinky little kick to Bolton, should have been hoofing 70 metres into the 50 giving Lynch & Riewoldt a chance one on one, or over the back. We were in it up to our balls until then.
The missed kick that should've been a handball by flappers In the 3rd qtr when we had all the momentum on the wing/half back.
Rioli saved his worse game in 2 yrs for Friday night.
We lost by 14 the media reckon it shouldve been by more.
But how many of our players saved there *smile* game of the season for this round?

This. If grimes kicks like that every week he is in the seconds. Surely an aberration. It was 2016 chip it around the back until you kick it to the opposition stuff.

He seems to be a Provocateur in that he doesn't go with the crowd here on
- the Umps collude with the AFL to pay free kicks against us
- The MRO is out to get us
- that every journo despises us and try to bring us down
- that every decision the club makes is bang on 100% correct
He has more patience than I do on the umpire one. I don't engage in that discussion on here for the exact reason that the responses are always childish and angry, and in most cases posters genuinely do not understand the rules.
Instead of welcoming an alternate opinion he cops it, but I'd say he's always pretty respectful.
Keep that line in the memory bank for next time
I remember pre 2017 when I used to cop crap about how poor we were for decades, with little ability for a comeback. Since then the world has changed but opposition supporters haven’t realized it and are shocked or stunned when I turn it around on them
