GAME DAY Tiges V Giants

Hard to accept mediocrity & that’s what this season was. Didn’t adjust to the new rules, lost form/confidence, got injuries and then it turned to rubbish.

Youth isn’t up to it - let’s be honest, so we need to start again there. Maurice jnr will be as good as Ted Whitten jnr, plus Dow & Ralphsmith were insipid poor tonight. Garthwaite never ever again.

Huge challenges ahead in recruiting, seeing who should go on & how the hell we want to try & play. Hardwick can make all the excuses he likes, but he’s lost the plot this year.

Would've been better off being dead and buried a few weeks earlier to be honest.

A pick or 2 higher in the draft and a good rest for our veteran stars, and some quality family time.

Injuries have played a part but you can’t hang your hat on that. There’s terrible parts to our play that have nothing to do with injuries and we’ve had enough personnel on the field to beat a number sides anyway eg GC, Cwood.

For my own sanity, I had to turn off the telly before half time.

Then I read about the strife in Sudan in an attempt to cheer myself up.

But that just reminded me of Chol, which made it even worse.

GWS looked pretty damn good tonight. Admittedly their opposition weren't all that flash, but they are a really good side.
If the Doggies can't win it then I will back GWS (although I don't like saying that) for the flag
And, really, as long as Geelong don't take the silverware.
U going for a job at the AFL? Good start

I'd like him to ask the journo's where are good places to go in September, cos the past few years he's been busy dominating and winning Grand Finals and crushing the competition so badly they had to change the rules to stop us.... then drop the mike!!!

They should do they get so many top end picks every year. But I think they seem to target players with elite foot skills, something we have never worried about too much. But we will need to change tack the way the game is played now. We've got way too many butchers.

But for all the Giants great drafting they still have the grand sum of zero flags.
"Now" being the optimal word. Who knows what rules they'll throw at everyone next season and the season after. But that's the AFL for you.
