GAME DAY Tiges V Giants

Season over. Embarrassing last 9 weeks. What needs to be fixed is obvious. Coach needs to go and have a big think because he’s a massive part of the problem.

The down the ground vision early on told the story.

Grimes anchored 30 metres behind everyone with no opponent. It's not the rules or the opposition, it's us doing what we have always done, setting up one extra back and conceding possession.

The problem is we have lost the intensity required to create a turnover that negates the extra number. We're writing cheques that our effort can't cover.
Intensity is irrelevant when you can’t pressure the mark. If you think the new rules haven’t changed the game you are kidding. Possession is king.

The stand rule killed us.

It was brought in to kill us off and it worked a treat.

Tigers burnt up what petrol tickets they had in the first half of the season trying to pressure against a style that wouldnt let them, with no real pre season behind them.

GWS looked pretty damn good tonight. Admittedly their opposition weren't all that flash, but they are a really good side.
If the Doggies can't win it then I will back GWS (although I don't like saying that) for the flag
And, really, as long as Geelong don't take the silverware.

Giants can certainly draft some good players. Especially since SOS left. Heaps of depth.
They should do they get so many top end picks every year. But I think they seem to target players with elite foot skills, something we have never worried about too much. But we will need to change tack the way the game is played now. We've got way too many butchers.

But for all the Giants great drafting they still have the grand sum of zero flags.

August holidays for Cotchy, sheds, nank, and jack and dusty
