GAME DAY - Tiges v Dogs

Can't blame the weather.

Several issues :

Our inability to win the ball

Poor decision making, lost count of the turnovers from sideways kicks/handballs

No pressure when Dogs bringing the ball back from defence, so.many times they ran all the way to the defensive 50m line, not good enough.

We have lost our identity as a pressure team.

Hooch lamenting the bashing we got around the stoppages and centre clearances as the prime reason we lost.

We got flogged there tonight. Plain as the nose on ya face. Disappointing considering this was supposed to improve with T and H.

On a dry track our system works. Forward handball and break the lines. We also managed to start our attackers off half back and work the ball beautifully forward. As soon as the rain came that game style doesn’t work. Losing clearances only hurt us when it was wet.
Surely then there are instructions that you keep it simple in the wet. We over handballed in the wet which cause turnovers and cost goals. We seemed to continue with the same style even though it was obvious the conditions weren't suited. Coaches and players need to do better

Did we sell the farm for a couple of stallions or a couple of donkeys? Time will tell but sheesh they can both butcher the ball

I agree but surely we would also have a game plan for wet weather. From tonights showing we didn't. Until we learn to play to the conditions whatever they are and to the umpires interpretations we will struggle

100% on target R4E, i was actually counting the turnovers centering the ball across half back - lost count.

How many times did the dogs go from defense to I50 with no contested possessions????

I watched the 2017 GF last week, the pressure now is totally absent in comparison

Clearances in the wet are king. Unfortunately we got smashed.

The handball game wasn’t the issue, it was mistakes by foot. What were scores from stoppages?

And smashed at clearance. We had no pressure on the inside, Dogs walked it out time after time.

I've no idea why..could be a role change? Thinking it's easier? Carrying an injury? I dunno but Dion has dropped away from being our best midfielder. It's hurting.

We aren't transitioning the ball anywhere near as well as we have. Lambert, Grigg, Edwards, Prestia, transitional midfielders ..not so easy to replace.
Ross is a transition mid.

Who got 23 disposals and a goal going at 80% DE in the wet last week.

But then we dropped him to play CHF for a half in the reserves, as he has such a similar skill set to Wayne Carey.

What are the reasons Shai is not getting into the CB's? Is probably our cleanest player and in that final qtr should have been playing midfield.

We did over possess Scoop. One too many handballs and the mistakes occurred. Plenty of times we should have gone the long option but we kept ignoring the conditions.
