Game Day Tigers v Suns

wow could the AFL reporting be any more negative?
"grind to victory"
" extra rest proves telling "
" survived a huge scare "
" anything but impressive "
" If Gold Coast had more belief it would have won. "
then of course plenty of coverage of Lynch apparently almost killing some guy

I am still getting used to the tigers putting in a poor game but still come away with the 4 points - in fact the game was in the bag at 3 qtr time. Happy and move on, every win is gold this seaso.

We won without a Dusty domination (who tagged him?) and a quietish Bolton.

liked Graham’s, McIntosh and Marcov’s game from our fringe players and Balta gets another scalp - he is playing well.

Reckon Aarts was found out today and Chol was disappointing in the way they pushed him around.

I was surprised by the space they found in and around the scrimmages and seemed to attack by breaking between our two pressing players - is this an insight from Ellis maybe.

The only way we can make top 5 from here is to win all the games. Otherwise its near impossible based on the final fixture as the top 5 teams have similar runs - if anything we have the hardest run home having to face Eagles + Cats, but also travel to Dawrin.

Top 4 will be important as any rest from here on in will be worth gold.

I calculate we can drop 1 and finish 4th.

But like 'burg says, we dont drop them in august and september.

Our october record is as good as anyones ever too

Hard to see the top three missing, and the Eagles have a game in hand. Saints have the toughest run with Brisbane/West Coast/GWS/Melbourne.

Need one from left field... like Giants d. Eagles this week.

If we win every game we finish above Geelong.

washup?
positives....
.markov proof positive of need for fast twitch muscles...where's he been! ?..the odd game he's been given he's done the same then dropped...leave IN!
.macca as ever fast twitch, hard at it, unrelenting with size...definition of modern wingman...actually a good ball drop, kick under pressure.
.jack been bike riding actually building some fitness & movement ....just in time after disrespecting season start
.cotch...enjoyed 13 days off
negs....
.rioli for10 min looked reborn then same disappearing act..at best unfit, undeserving...must have photos.
.graham slow twitch loses advantage in contest...bung shoulders have sucked his spark & strength...wont win a final with him/caddy...ii dont care about rcd reservations...fast twitch right size & hard...its not all about disposals
.why is hardwick encouraging lynch to fight....not sure its producing the goods....swap ends with balta for a reboot if not firing
.stack bad again...wtf has happened?..he seems to have lost all leg strength...pump up the quads n hammies mate...
.ease up on the george hate..hes a fast twitch pressure act...required player
.likewise soldo hate...soldier in urgent need of backup (nank also in debt re advantage hitouts)
.also pickett hate...developing masterclass...i just dont get it.
.chol needs to watch a replay of his efforts...has credits as does aarts
.dusty on haunches again...mysteriously bad.

Just noticed the Herald Sun also had Grimes as our best (as well as afl.com). I considered about ten players for votes, but not Grimes. What am I missing here?

Yep - read that. Who the hell is Michael Whiting. Slighty one sided report from this clown - must be a local who follows GC surely.

the opposition only kicked 4 goals , maybe some saw Grimes as the main reason LtRtR ?

A funny positive from last night was another solid game from Markov , showing his running ability , he may not be at Punt rd next season , however I think he may have shown enough to get another chance.

I agree Olegs game was good.

but remember before DTLD came to the realisation that his mind turned slowly, and you used to be able to make scones while he made a decision with the ball in hand?

I see that in Oleg. Not to say he cant speed it up, or adapt his game.

But I see him as a serviceable depth player, who could cause a PRE meltdown in a hot final?

I could be wrong

It was 54 inside 50's to 29. The action was all at the other end.

Sam Day at 27 has played every game, averages 8 touches a week and has been goalless in four of the past five games. Don't know that there's room on Grimes' wall for Day's head.

Not that it matters but I wouldn’t be shocked if the suns go past the Giants next season, some genuine first class talent . I think the man steering the ship maybe a bit better at steering.
