Game Day RD 17 - Tigers V Suns

Dusty, Cotch, Balta, Lambert, Vlastuin, Lynch all out

Prestia not 100% due to normal concussion hangover

Considering we have no depth, Ross late out was a little rabbit *smile* garnish on a big *smile* sandwich

Both rucks get injured during the game

Thats why we lost the game 6 of our best players out. And one of our current best depth players out of a side with no depth due to equalisation policies.

Amazing coaching and playing effort that we almost won it really.
Agree, snake. We were both there and both said the Suns comeback was on the cards a long way out. Our turnover game was electric but our clearance issue was too great in the end. And we made some costly blues, e.g. Taz not icing it, Grimes dropping two chest marks, Ralphsmith taking a kick-in (why?), George's open goal tragi-comedy, Shai not giving the hands in the third, Cumberland, MoJu, Aarts missing sitters, etc.

Everything that was wrong yesterday can be righted if we get everyone back in time.

Lost it at the selection table.
No Ty Vickery. :ROFLMAO:
A rugged ruck, pushing forward to work in tandem with Jack R.
Crashing through packs to create crumbing goals.

As an aside, Metricon is a great place to watch the footy. Outer wing and behind the scoreboard goals was total Tiger territory, reverse the other side/end. Atmosphere was crackling, the sky was stunning, and the locals were right into it. One meth head even sledged me about Dusty to Sydney after the game. And we got to have a kick on the ground! Surface mint, a bit dewy by the end, @Tigers of Old ;)

GDog's missus had the whips and chains out for a session and he goes....hold that stuff...I've got something special for today!
Yeah if you are into that stuff you could tee up a k hunt and yesterday 2 minute or last quarter packages and sandwich around a cox pf. To get the full k hunt and cox experience.

all we needed to do was kick ONE of those goals and we win

2 of them - George & FAarts - were open, begging to be slotted

I am genuinely confused as to how these were not slotted by professional footballers

Neither player has been particularly reliable with set shots, and George is like a box of chocolates.

Forget 5th and 6th. We're fighting for 7th or 8th against 5 other teams. Not all are going to have a shocking last 6 games. We will need to win 4 or 5. We've only won 3 of the last 6, injuries mounting, let's just focus on North who nearly toppled Pies.
Let’s focus on north - who will have an interim coach by next weekend

Only professional bc they are being paid well (too well)....

That Khunt game was nearly 10 years to the day - 14 July 2012. Amazing seeing two 19 year olds in Prestia and Caddy in that team.

We can still win it we just need luck with injuries. Our best is better than any, only the Dees at their best rival us. Top 4 out of the question, we need to engineer another 4 wins. 12 wins and % may even do it. Norf/Hawks are locks. Bombers should be also.

Just need some luck with injuries.
No games are locks this year for us.

All boils down to lack of leadership
Maybe the weight of the co-captaincy on two of our most reliable players is too much for them. I rate both the guys very highly but they haven't seemed consistently the same this season compared to last. Maybe we should look at a captain in the mould of Cotchin who is in the grunt of the game and lead so others follow.

anyway, back to this thread, i think the loss was caused by our bottom six were not good enough

you can argue about her our bottom 6 were:

take your pick form this lot:

rioli
miller
soldo
dow
cumberland
aarts
castagna
edwards

you can carry 2 or 3 of them, but this way too many

and then we had injuries to nank and lynch
Too many game-changing incidents, caused by Premiership stars, were the main factors in our loss. We should have won it even though our bottom six players did not play a major role.

Yes, I have calmed down and can see this now.
Last night was blinding white hot fury.
I sulked by the firepit for a few hours.
C'mon Tiges we are in this

Like I said when it happened, Cotchy should have the role until he retires.

Some questioning Millers' game, the guy has played 5 games and thought he did ok.

9 disposals, 6 intercept possessions, 240 meters gained, 3 marks and went at 100% DE

Keep Miller back and Gibcus to go forward. If Balta is ready he plays 2nd ruck/forward rotating. Not sure about Soldo but if he is out with his thumb then need to bring in Samson Ryan as 1st ruck.
play miller & ryan till year end.
gibcus fwd also non negot.
clever tap jack only option aerially now is disruption...inevitable frees against.
soldo selection & ryan not, mystifying.
