GAME DAY Rd 13 - against the Pepper Power at the home of the G

The AFL are *smile* idiots. Fair dinkum. Thursday night in middle of winter against an interstate team. It was bloody freezing. FFS what a joke.

Thursday night footy is *smile*. I kind of get it early and late in the season when it’s warmer: although I still don’t like it. But in the middle of winter? When people have got to get home from work and into the G for a 7.20 start? And go to work and school next day? *smile* ridiculous.

I went tonight but would not blame anyone who decided not to. The AFL is *smile*.
Agree Riddles. I went tonight. Couldn’t feel my feet by the end of the night. She was cold. With G free on Saturday this game should have never been on a Thursday night.

Ralph Malph blamed the weather and Thursday night. Next breath Sarah Jones says ‘Supporters love Thursday nights’. Do these people ever listen to what they’re saying? The evidence is that supporters hate Thursday nights.
Supporters love Thursday nights? In middle of winter? What a load of crap. It’s for TV only; that’s the only reason it’s on.

Sarah Jones is far from the worst in the media but she’s an AFL sycophant.

Used to be crowd of 29.000 for home team to break even at the G
Not sure if it’s still 29,000

She actually said "we" love it, as in Fox Footy.

Okay was only commenting on what the other poster said; didn’t hear it myself. I get why Fox love it; they are the only reason it’s on.

She is an AFL sycophant though.

I'd love to see this alleged vision the ARC crew made the decision on, because you couldn't make it based on what we saw. I won't be holding my breath.

Did the goal ump say goal or point?

I was at the ground, and the vision was just about the worst I have ever seen from the ARC. To overturn that on that vision was a disgrace, the goal umpire signaled a goal btw.

If the AFL have alternative views, then show the bloody TV images of it, or all it does is *smile* supporters off as they feel they have been jibbed.

Wow Hinkley just said doctors concluded players didn't need concessions tests. Apparently he says they're tough players too. And he spoke to them after the game and they looked fine. This is going to become a big news story.
He knows they did the wrong thing. That's why he was defending it pretty aggressively-only problem being that his arguements were nonsense.

To make matters worse one of the players had another head knock 2 minutes later when he got buried in a tackle. Isn't that exactly the reason they haave the rules-because a second knock can cause really serious issues?

I don't buy the ARC see different footage. I think they stuffed up, went off half cocked. If we'd lost by a kick there would have been a big hoo ha.

edit, just watched the replay, ARC say "looking at this angle, we can see the ball deviates after making contact with the goal post, decision on the scoreboard".

"this angle" was the footage we were looking at, forget the ARC seeing other footage, didn't happen. And you couldn't see that the ball had deviated from that, nowhere *smile* near it. The waters were muddied by the fact Gibcus and Allir collided with the post and made it wobble, thats obvious, but if its obvious to me, why not the pros who are getting paid to sort this out? Farce.

Pretty scrappy game tonight.

We were good early, lost our way in the 2nd when they seriously got on top at the contest. It was about the only time in the game where they were well on top, but defensively we did well.

We wrestled the contested game back in the 3rd and 4th and dominated both. Poor ball use was the only thing stopping us blowing the game open. Jack and Shai both butchering opportunities on a number of occasions.

Just on Shai, I didn't like what I saw today. He's been playing a relatively selfless game the last few years, but I saw some very selfish passages of play in his game tonight and I didn't like it.

Juddy looks like he belongs at this level which was good. Balta is a backman, he was much better back and was much better on Marshall.
Soldo - I just don't see where he fits in. Didn't give us 1st use out of the ruck, so whats his role? 56% TOG is a killer when we need to rotate older players more.
Shedda - Won't be playing on next year. If this is his role, MRJ will be playing it next year IMO. Rotate Shedda and Lambert as sub for the rest of the year??
