Daisy suggested the concussion protocols didn't happen, and she does play the game, and it would be controversial. then another commentator stepped in and shut her down.

Wow Hinkley just said doctors concluded players didn't need concessions tests. Apparently he says they're tough players too. And he spoke to them after the game and they looked fine. This is going to become a big news story.

Interested in your thoughts TBR.

Did you consider that a pretty inconsequential head clash?

Do you think it warranted a concussion test?

Cos I've never seen Jonas shirk a contest, and he looked like he was in a world of trouble to me.

It looked nasty MCR, but it is really hard to say without being on the spot. You don't automatically go downstairs and get the pen and paper out for a knock to the head, there's a range of things you work through to get to that point.

They had time to work through that stuff during the time patching them up and they both will have been absolutely clear on all measures, so you don't go into the next phase.

One thing I would say though is I would unequivocally back the competence, judgement and professionalism of the medical staff involved and anyone who thinks they know better from a distance is a fool.

Reckon we lost a goal there. Assuming that free kick was to Gibcus, the usual procedure would be to ask the player if they want the point or another shot.

Think the score review confused things. Of course it would have been two soft frees in a minute so I'm sure the fair minded folk on here wouldn't want it.
The common sense rule.

You don't know what he was looking at though, he might have gone behind the goals and seen it clearly hit the post.
Well they should show the deciding evidence otherwise don’t show anything and don’t have the arc

Further to this, there was another example in the game when Dustin took a knock in a marking contest. Went down for a bit, and Greg Hickey came out to him, will have done an assessment and determined all was fine so in that instance he doesn't even leave the field.

They keep an eye on him and check in next time he comes to the bench and at break for an signs of a delayed onset.

So it should be. But have a feeling that the AFL will allow it to be swept under the carpet. Stewart passed his concussion test last week and they still kept him off.

Every single head clash of that nature I have seen in games has required a concussion test as per the AFL protocols. That was a serious event. No-one is saying they think they know more than the doctors but the whole reason the protocols were brought in was to standardise the process.

Ralph Malph blamed the weather and Thursday night. Next breath Sarah Jones says ‘Supporters love Thursday nights’. Do these people ever listen to what they’re saying? The evidence is that supporters hate Thursday nights.
Sarah Jones is nothing more than an AFL apologist and Dill knobslobberer and she isnt that good at it either. (n.b The Apologist that is !)

What was the crowd 12k??
The AFL are *smile* idiots. Fair dinkum. Thursday night in middle of winter against an interstate team. It was bloody freezing. FFS what a joke.

Thursday night footy is *smile*. I kind of get it early and late in the season when it’s warmer: although I still don’t like it. But in the middle of winter? When people have got to get home from work and into the G for a 7.20 start? And go to work and school next day? *smile* ridiculous.

I went tonight but would not blame anyone who decided not to. The AFL is *smile*.
