GAME DAY – R14 Tiges v Blues

Yep you watch any NFL game where they have lots of reviews the quality is insanely good. The toughest one for them is a touchdown or 1st and 10 call in the middle of a scrum where there are 20 bodies over the ball and they are meant to judge if it broke the plane.

Nearly every report I've read on this game states "Carlton's depleted defence" .......ooooohhhhhh

Are they wrong?
How depleted, I don't know considering you still won games before ours with the majority of that defence. It's just an overstatement to soften the blow of the loss which somehow makes our win look less worthy. My point is that just about every reporter unnecessarily used it.

Reckon Carlton were lucky that the weather was *smile*. With our clearance dominance Lynch would've kicked half a dozen in good conditions.

Im about to close all social media, whilst all teams have ferals, the Blues posts are disgraceful and scary. Cannot believe racist comments are not reprimanded by their own club. Easy to close burner accounts and hunt down the faceless owner.

This isn't a salty post as I don't for a minute think the overturned score review is the reason we got done (give up the first six goals of a match and you'll always be up against it), but ...

For an elite sporting competition as well-resourced and funded as the AFL is, the current 'technology' in place is an embarrassment and a disgrace.

I've lost count of how many times they'll show the vision on the screen and there's no way possible one can tell for certain whether a ball is touched, or whatever the question may be. They're going off TV camera angles and other shoddy footage, then someone upstairs is put on the spot to make a call or they just end up going with the umpire's call anyway.

With all the revenue the league rakes in each year, surely state-of-the-art score review technology can be invested in.

Hell it might even make people a bit less annoyed when forking over exorbitant amounts of their hard-earned for merch, tickets, food, memberships, etc. if they know the money is going towards something that'll make the experience better.

Either do it properly or don't do it at all.

Totally agree and I've said the same sentence as your lost one on here several times. If they are going to do it, spend the bloody money on the best available technology. My smartphone could show better images than the crap they put on the screen.

I'm just grateful we have been on the "good" end of some umpiring decisions

Unfortunately what it shows is how much influence umpires have over games.

Not salty at all, do it right or not at all. I reckon you would get agreement from supporters of all clubs on that score.

I started reading something on Twitter but stopped because it was garbage. Prestia is a thug, Pickett should be in jail, Lynch is an eye gouging sniper, Broad cheated and we only won flags because we are the AFL darlings who get a dream run with the MRP and the umpires.
A few Tiger fans fought back but got overwhelmed with vitriol.
I hope we are a bit more gracious as a supporter group but I suspect some tiger fans are not.

Highly unlikely the Dynasty can rekindle after this season , too many stars will retire or start to drop off , in saying that there was a few cubs last night who showed they have enough to be Premiership players , Baker and Bolton continue to show there going to be very good for a long time , Gibcus, MJ, Clarke and Hugo all continue to improve and look like they can be 100 gamers , the worry is that we don’t appear to have a Jack replacement and I don’t think there’s a lot to work with with the Cubs outside of last years draft through the midfield
My late reply and it may have been mentioned already but I'm hoping Bauer will keep on developing. Remember there are so many players who played little to no footy for past 2 years so we'll have a better idea what talent is really out there after this year.

I agree that Broad touched the ball on the evidence we have.

But the evidence we have is a blurry picture and is no where near adequate for the task.

DS
Yes. I also have no doubt the ball was touched, but that’s not the point being made by the BluesBloke.
We should be able to have better and more definitive evidence. It’s not good enough
