It was probably more the cacophonous booing that rang out as Geelong ran onto the ground. It completely drowned out their theme song. It was hilarious.

That is one of my fondest memory of being at a game, right up there with attending '17 and '19 grand finals. The atmosphere was incredibly hostile and tribal, plus Geelong had been sooking that week about having to play at the MCG, probably knowing that their supporters would be well and truly outnumbered.

2017 preliminary final ,opening bounce ,cotchin long kick into the forward line, Dusty takes ball off the pack and handballs it to a running Kane Lambert who runs into a opening goal with a thunderous roar all the way, spine tingling moment.

What about Saad's deliberate attempt to break Lynch's finger with his eye?
Nearly succeeded. When Lynchman was being interviewed after the game it was obvious he couldn't straighten his middle finger while holding the microphone. Musta been very sore from Saad's vicious attack.

The guy in front of us threatened to bash my son for barracking too loudly. - and this was in the Richmond 3121 members area! Turds all of them.
Hope ya sent him home in a wheelie bin. Footies made for loud barracking, it's not golf or tennis or pot black where everyone's supposed to tip toe around quietly.

And the look of bewilderment on Ottens’ face when he rang the bell before the game was priceless

Has the afl come out and given the thumbs up to broadys touch yet? It makes common sense!

Yes senior sergeant barge ass gave it the all clear.
I was hoping he would say that broad didn't touch the ball, to make them feel the pain will have gone through in the last 5 yrs with those clowns

Big chance blues drop out of the 8 next week.
Was no chance of happening even if Saints had won tonight.

Edit: actually take that back, very small chance if Pies win next game say 40 points and Blues lose by around 40 (rough estimate)

The camera only picks up so many frames per second. That means there is plenty that happens in real time that a camera will not pick up. So a perfect frame of the ball making contact with the hand is not always possible. However the movement of Broad's left fingers could have only happened from the ball hitting them. Even when looking in slow motion his fingers move rapidly independently from the rest of his hand as the ball passes his hand. He would have to have incredible super human powers to somehow fake that motion at the perfect time. Logic dictates that he touched the ball (as it always does in this situation with a non Richmond player). It seems to only be a question now because the call went in OUR favour lol.

This isn't a salty post as I don't for a minute think the overturned score review is the reason we got done (give up the first six goals of a match and you'll always be up against it), but ...

For an elite sporting competition as well-resourced and funded as the AFL is, the current 'technology' in place is an embarrassment and a disgrace.

I've lost count of how many times they'll show the vision on the screen and there's no way possible one can tell for certain whether a ball is touched, or whatever the question may be. They're going off TV camera angles and other shoddy footage, then someone upstairs is put on the spot to make a call or they just end up going with the umpire's call anyway.

With all the revenue the league rakes in each year, surely state-of-the-art score review technology can be invested in.

Hell it might even make people a bit less annoyed when forking over exorbitant amounts of their hard-earned for merch, tickets, food, memberships, etc. if they know the money is going towards something that'll make the experience better.

Either do it properly or don't do it at all.

Agree.
The other thing is that it takes too long.

No doubt Graystar. However the conditions did make it difficult to take a contested mark and we had little space to get separation on the lead
We desperately need a genuine crumbing forward and we looked better with MRJ on the field
Agree about MRJ Sinner.
Who would he replace though up there.
Maybe Clarke who is still learning.
We will need a strong team to defeat the Pussies.
At least this game is at the G instead of at Pussieland.

Thought it was all high tech computerised digital imaging these days. No fillum in the cameras rattling through at 32 frames per second. Should have near perfect crystal clear imaging available to adjudicate from. But knowing the AFL n channel 7, I guess we're fortunate it's not still in black n white footage.

Everyone does relize that the image at home especially on the Mcg big screen isn't anywhere near what they are looking at,their images are extremely clear and looking via another screen at home and at the g isn't anywhere near the same.

What frustrates me is that some reviews they will show split screens of different angles and 'snicko' but other reviews show one blurry picture., Dusty's overturned goal against ess showed one picture next week against us we get the split screen as an example
