It's interesting. From nine seasons, he's missed the finals once - 9th in his first year at St.Kilda. Six top four finishes, a 6th and a 7th.

He has the second-best record among 150-game coaches, but his win rate is inflated by fielding far older teams than his opposition. Have to wonder how far down the list he'd fall if he had to endure a rebuild (Roos quickly coming back towards a 50/50 record despite enjoying the second-biggest age advantage).

Are they any worse than ours? Some of the comments on here make me wonder about Richmond supporters at times. The better we get the more hateful and arrogant we become. This site has been really hard going at times. I'm rapt the Hawks won last night. Regardless of the GF result what an example of sustained success they've been.

I didn't see any of the match,but I honestly don't think there's a lot between all the crowds, Brissy an Sydney a pretty lame because it's just a social outing up there , as for the rest of us we have our good, bad an very ugly
 
Cant work out why anyone would want Hawthorn to win. Dont you get sick of the same team winning year after year. How about Freo never won a flag. I will always follow the underdog if the mighty tiges aren't there. The crowd is feral in Perth though I've been to a few state of origin games there. Brawls and all.

Every team has feral supporters and I would hope that Richmond supporters would condemn any action like what happened with Freo supporters last night in relation to interaction with players.
AFL is a tribal game for many Rosy, you only have to look at the opinion split on the Essendon drug saga between Essendon supporters and others to see an example of that. We are not always logical in our opinions on other clubs but to me that's one of the things that i love about AFL footy and supporters.
I agree don't become hateful, but being one-eyed, irrational and illogical is part of the make up of many AFL fans. To me it is part of the fun as long as a line is not crossed.
I wanted Freo to win last night but that was nothing more than wanting a change in the make up of the GF
 
One eyed, irrational and illogical isn't what I was referring to. The pure vitriol and abuse sickens me. We eat our own as well as others. We've moved our reserved seats a few times due to the behaviour of fellow members around us. My point was even though we don't like the behaviour of opposition fans we aren't that different ourselves at times.
 
Looking at facebook and Twitter this morning I'm very saddened by the footage and the language used in that video.

I hope the person who did the crime gets appropriately punished and that Freo and the AFL ban that football thug for life.

Also I hope the Freo supporter who shaped to hit Smith gets held accountable for his actions as that was a very poor look for football.

There is no "we" when it comes to individual supporters and there is of course a line none of us should cross. I bet you there are supporters of all clubs who have to move because of the behaviour of some individuals in their own supporter base.

I must admit to having to tell richmond supporters to behave at times as well, but equally I have seen others do the same when supporting rival clubs.

We are no different but the irrationality and tribalism comes from thinking we are ;D
 
When people go to the games to drink instead of watching the game, this will always happen.
Friday night games are the worse.
Has been happening since day dot, and now with IPhones it just brings it to the surface more often.

The most racist crap I ever heard at the footy wasnt at Vic Park or Princes Park it was under the new Southern Stand from our own directed at OUR OWN!
