Footy Show

Wallace's reply made me sick in the guts, his replies were like swiss cheese. For starters, should have walked out wearing the Richmond tie because he is still contracted until his last game, it just goes to show honouring until the end is not his style. I'll be surprised if he wears the colours tonight.

I've been a huge Terry Wallace fan right through his tenure at Richmond, but to see the RICHMOND COACH not wearing ANY RICHMOND GEAR during his exit press conference AT TIGERLAND earlier in the week, and then on the Footy Show last night disappoints me no end.

The Footscray infuence at Richmond, brought to the club by TW, has been too large and too heavily based on media representation and commercialisation.....and now has been proven to have worked. While I like the guy I think that Chocco will not be around next week either.

Our playing group is not too far away from success...... they just need to be allowed to play football with enthusiasm......... not like robots sticking mindlessly to game plans that have been broken down so easily by enthusiastic opposition.

They also need to stop playing to protect their spots in the team.

As for the Footy Show, it is better than the last few years, but still needs something else to make it more attractive.

Interestinginterview,no doubt that newman asked him to go & he was paid by Swans but tried to disguise it.It would seem to me that TW was the one who leaked info as he wanted to leave so he could persue his next job but still get his full contract this year.

Exactly on both counts.............

I wonder if we conducted a poll we would want Terry to go now and Campbell to coach the club tonight. Dont shoot me down. I am just putting the suggestion out there.

What a fraud.

ALL ABOUT ME , ME, ME...............

That's right, we were always going to take Lids and most thought, whoever the Hawks left out of Roughy or Buddy... we took Bling!

Terry has work for Fox during the under 18's carnival and 'rated' Tambling, after watching him dominate (Division 2) whilst playing for the NT side.

TW had plenty to do with the 2004 draft... Lids, Bling, Meyer, Patto & Polo, the first 3 had TW's drafting DNA all over them!

We had always planned to take Lids and Roughhead at 1 and 4. Buddy was never on our radar.

Does not matter how many times u state a fact Westy...those on PRE tend to not let the truth stand in the way of a good whinge ;)

Wallace has been sacked. That hurts guys. For him to get a flogging for not wearing team colours on this thread on the eve of his last day says loads about how stupid a job head coach is sometimes. Don't mind him being flogged for other things but for not wearing team colours? FFS get over it. Wallace is a proud man on television in front of millions talking about how he is currently getting the boot. Talking with Sam as well. Talk about humiliation. Anyone who thinks that all the public interviews aren't hurting him and that all he can think about is how to get through them with the minimum of pain before the inevitable end tonight, has a screw loose.

People shouldn't read too much into things at the moment because the guy is under immense pressure which will only end when he is safely at home and the press idiots finally decamp from his home and decide that he is yesterday's news.

Wallet's lack of judgement knows no bounds.
He walked out on the Hawks, Tigers and then the Doggies.
Recruits, Mark Graham, Kingsley, P. Bowden, Humm, not to mention the players we have at the club at the moment.
Wallet's lack of judgement was evident again last night.
I would've thought the time to go on the footy show would've been the week after his last match as coach.
I wouldn't touch him if i was the Gold Coast.

But he's not getting the boot because of something out of his control.

He underperformed for 4.5 years, and is only leaving now, and not at the end of the year, because he wants to work at another club.

If he said he was going to work in the media next year, he'd be coaching us to the end of the year.

The decision for him to leave now was a joint decision between him and Gary March.

I think everyone would just like to hear him take full responsibility for Richmond's performance over the past 5 years, and he just can't do it. That's the most disappointing thing about this whole saga.

Just be honest Terry.

After seeing Terry in this light over the past couple of weeks, I can completely understand why the players didn't respect him.

Seems Wallace has taken the skill of squeezing money out of clubs for just going away and not bothering them to a high art.

Still trying to get over that interview last night.

If the bloke had of at least used a few generic throw away lines like “Yeah I’d probably do things a bit differently if I had my time over” or “Yeah, I made few decisions that didn’t work out” or whatever, most Tiges fans would have swallowed it and thought …yeah ok lets move on. Done.

But the bloke couldn’t even do that. Worse, he was almost downright defiant (!) in accepting any responsibility for our performances the last 4 ½ years. Talk about a weasely excuse maker.

I don’t blame him for everything that’s gone on the last 4 ½ years, but come on Terry, accept some responsibility. Geez.

I always knew when he came to us that he had a bit of a reputation for being a bit self-interested, but it didn’t worry me too much at the time. But after last night, gee have I underestimated his ego and self importance. Bloody hell.

Bad move by him last night. Fans of the other 14 teams will just swallow that interview and maybe not think too much about it, but Tiges and Dogs fans will only hold him in even less regard now after that performance. Shocking.

Agree. Not a ounce of humility or any acceptance of that has gone wrong. Didn't even sound like he thought things had gone wrong. He was trying to sell much to hard. Trying to outsmart Sam, far too hard. I really thought he would try to go out and thank everyone at Richmond for there efforts and support, mention what a great club it was how with a bit of tweaking and hard work the club could launch a generation of success, how he hopes it happens becuase the Richmond supporters deserve it. Nothing like that at all.

It was the Terry show.

Very good post Redbeard

Summed it up

Roll on Saturday

I also found it unnacceptable for Wallarse to have brought up the past and spoken about the era (lack of finances) with Bartlett at the club.

what a *smile*

when all is said and done he can crap on about frawley having no chance of success but at least spud took us to a finals series something he couldn't do even with improved footy dept spending

He cleared out his desk when no one was around...he's checked out...he checked out after we lost to Melbourne.

It would be good to get the caretaker in now..they know who it is....BUT

I guess the board/Football department are just allowing wallet to slip away to avoid more messy media representation...heaven knows we've had enough of that.

In terms of how it looks/media/the AFL public..... its probably less controversial to allow him and the club some dignity at the end, irrespective of whether he deserves it or not.

Everytime Teflon Terry talks he does more damage to himself. He continues to present himself as being selfish and unaccountable. Sounds like that rubbed off on our list, to a degree I'd say.

Selflessness and a high degree of accountablity is what we need right now !

I still have a problem that RFC seems to have made a blind commitment to appear stable over the last 5 years and have possibly dropped the ball in being ruthlessly committed to being the best onfield.

Get some mongrel back !

I was very unimpressed by the comment that he wanted to get tonight's game out of the way so he can get on with his life.

Would seem like human nature to me. I don't know why everyone is surprised by this comment. Unless you've been in the situation that Wallace has been, especially this year. He would feel very relieved, a weight off his shoulders after tonight. This doesn't detract of course from Wallace's failure to succeed at the Tigers or take any responsibility for lack of success.

Well said mate, I'm still stunned he accepted no blame or fault for anything that has gone wrong.

Tonight cannot get over and done with quick enough
