Footy Show

LOL, what's in bex anyway? Is it still legal??

Aspirin, Phenacetin and Caffeine

Phenacetin is an analgesic but it can cause kidney problems and has some carcinogenic effects. Safer alternatives exist such a Paracetomol (derived from Phenacetin).

Not sure if it is "legal" but the problems with Phenacetin resulted in gov't controls being imposed and manufacture and sale stopped in the mid seventies.

So "Take a Bex and have a good lie down" is no longer really possible.

I guess the closest saying to this is "Take two aspirin and call me in the morning".

I feel the headache of the past 5 years (actually really only the past 3) starting to clear! And I am happy to live in Sydney with only limited exposure to the Footy Show.

Fun Ha!

OMG -

do you a deal sam.

" i will only take responsibility for the Tigers recruiting .... if I get responsiblity for bulldogs......... I'm only a coach."

:vomit :vomit :vomit :vomit

terrible interview from TW.

For all the clowning Newman does, he's still the best interviewer on there. Arrogant enough to not give a stuff if he makes himself objectionable. He somehow even seems to not be too offensive to his subjects, even when asking pretty penetrating questions. Shame he didn't focus more on the recruiting issue though. The teams of flankers Terry builds would seem key to his coaching failure, and worth pursuing.

Wish he'd dropped McMahon's name after Terry refused to take any responsibility for the recruiting.

Yes - it gets done every year in the business world - people see a chance to make money and be successful they will jump at it - they do not give a rats about professionalism or political correctness - all they see is the opportunity to be successful and the money that comes from that.
Strewth I am starting to sound like Liverpool - I better have a bex and a good lay down........

:hihi...don't be scared Remote...you're just starting to see the light!

Interview above for those who missed it.

Thanks ToO.

EVERY Richmond Supporter needs to watch this 18 minute interview to see exactly how hard done by we have been that this bloke got the room and space he got.

Terry Wallace is nothing but a lightweight, finger pointer !

Show pony at best with early retirement from (everything to do with) football on the cards, period !

Wallet for all his froth and bubble made a very poor decision to appear last night.

No doubt it was another job interview for him pushing his barrow, im available all.

Big miscalculation with Newman getting him square in the headlights with the Sydney and Newman coup questions.

Came across as scrambling for save of face and nothing less, deflected, and spun himself into a hole last night was laughable it was Vintage Wallet snake oil stuff at its very very best.

Two things i gleaned from it.

Wallet was payed out by the swans and for legal reasons he cant talk about it, and what apparantly took place on that Monday took place.

Wallets failure to address that issue has hung Newman out to dry to be harrangued over this for the rest of his career.

Wallet is full of *smile* always has been and i am wrapt he is gone absolutely stoked.

His deflection re recruiting was also a joke.

Squeaked and squirmed and i loved it when Sammy put him back in the corner when Wallet tried to sneak his way out with BS and fairy floss talk.

This bloke has not helped the club and in fact has hindered its development with his crap management and shithouse drafting, coaching and development efforts.

Get out and go back to the media, in many cases he never left the media i spose.

This club needs a hard arse no nonsense take no prisoners type footy coach not a salesman.

Lost all respect for him last night with that BS stunt, i think most in footy land would be of the opinion he didnt do himself to well with that last night i personally reckon it backfired and and happy it did.

The reality is he failed in all areas, and must accept blame.

I cannot accept his unwillingness to take his medicine and put his hand up and acknowledge he failed the bloke makes more noise than an amusement park and yet carries even less substance imo.

Bullshitartist and charletan whos own interest is his own profile.

Yep. I know others picked up on Wallet's true interests a lot sooner, but I reckon much of that has been pretty obvious since trade week in 2007.

Just watched it and I believe Sam Newman was doing more squirming than Terry Wallace - and as an interviewer Sam should stick to drinking.

Wallace did not answer a question in a way the question was intended - he was too clever for Sam and Sam did not have the interviewing technique to put the blow torch to Terry's stomach. To me that interview achieved nothing - no questions were asked with enough cleverness to trip a master press manipulator up - no answers were made that gave a viewer a definitive understanding of what happened. It was all left hanging in the air - no resolution whatsoever and you were left to make your own mind up - most here on PRE have Terry guilty and hung - but in truth that interview did not achieve that.

All-in-all a nothing event............

What gets me is he was blaming our resources when he claim to the club & using it as an excuse. He didn't have to come to our club & would have known how many assistants etc that he would have been given.

But we had a better list than hawthorn

To me Wallets 4 1/2 years is much akin to a KFC or MACCAS bingefest.

Allgreat when it started and was a great idea, zest, hunger reign free.

Then 3/4 the way through the binge then comes the indegestion, nausea, discomfort and the realisation that this was a very *smile*en bad idea.

And as has been the result, the end is the same a empty sickly feeling with it all flushed down the dunny.

I think his points about Bartlett and Frawley were reasonable in that they did have completely under-resourced football departments.

Unfortunately for TW, that just exacerbates the degree to which he has failed, seeing as we are now in such a better place off the field.

Huh?, you must have watched a different interview to the rest of us.

Hell, even Robbo came out tonight and said his ol mate Terry looked worse after the interview than he did going in. He couldn't work out why he did it, and that it just left bigger questions marks over wallace than there were before hand.

Very strange take remote, but your opinion nonetheless

You're joking surely. Wallace essentially destroyed his rep with that interview heck even Eddie McGuire was saying words to that effect last night on SEN. He did not handle it well.

FWIW I was at a party last night and spoke to someone I know who works at the Herald-Sun. She/he said there is no doubt that: 1. Newman asked Wallace to resign, 2. Wallace actually did resign for a time and 3. That Wallace himself is the source of the leak, 1. and 2. were what Wallace leaked to Herald Sun journalists.

Dmaien Barrett has had a crack today in the HUN at Wallace's interview.
