Can't agree.
I think Newman has tried to take some kind of affirmative action, possibly under pressure from his peers. HE has decided to front Wallace, rather than 'white ant' him and go behind his back to the Bosses to put the player's case forward.
Maybe he thought Wallace would bow to this and bow out, having lost his players, or similar. This is where his judgement has erred - Wallace has counter-acted in an unexpected way (to Chris) and Newman has copped it fair in the jaw. I am sure he thought he was doing the right thing.
Either way, the relationship has to be fractured. I think if Newman can get through this it may make him as a footballer and a captain. Wallace is a desperate dead man walking (evident in what he said to Morton which, in my opinion, was a disgrace), so who cares what happens to him. The sooner he is gone the better
