Footy media , love’m or hate’ m ?

jon ralph pretends to be a tiger person but wanted Dusty rubbed out over Chopstick Gate, I challenged him to do a public apology when the truth came out but he just blocked me instead :D
I did notice today with the photos with Cotchin Edwards Jack Bourke and KB.
There was no footage of Dusty talking to KB.
I remember KB not impressed by the chopstick incident and wanting the club to cut ties with Dusty

Like many others, KB jumped the gun on that one. However in KB’s mind he is never wrong about anything. So, he’ll never walk it back and Dustin knows that. I doubt things will ever be more than civil between the two. Sad, really. Even Bartlett’s team mates have said he’s a bit aloof.

Have to laugh when I hear certain media types whine and whinge that Dusty won’t do any interviews. I heard one nearly crying and stating that Richmond supporters want to hear him and he owes them. Well..have you actually asked ANY Richmond supporters what they want, or as I suspect it’s only you that wants to hear him talk?
I can’t remember who the reporter was but I do remember thinking he’s not even a Tigers person

The media have got this totally wrong. No Richmond supporter thinks Dusty owes us anything, in fact it is WE that owe him everything for the joy and the premierships he has provided US over his career. Its why so many want to get to the G on Saturday, so that we can pay homage and pay HIM OUR respects, not the other way around.

I couldn't give a stuff hearing about what Dusty is made to say in an interview. If he doesn't want to speak thats ok with me, if he's forced to do an interview it'll be artificial anyway. Let us pay HIM OUR respects in the way that we know best, and thats by showing up and showing him our support at 4.30 on Saturday arvo.

The media can go and get stuffed.

To be fair, I think the overwhelming response of Richmond supporters saying we don't want Marton to be forced into an interview, neither do we care if we does one or not, has changed a fair bit of the media narrative. Last couple of days there has been a lot more "Richmond supporters don't care if Martin does an interview" while changing their own stance to "He did his talking on the footy field".

The only question that remains is whether Martin will turn up when he gets elevated to an AFL Legend next year.

Whately still has nightmares about 17, 19 and 20, waking up most nights in a wet bed.
The ONLY commentator to call Dustin's 4th goal in the 20GF correctly with weight and impact it deserved. So there is that.

So true. Bruce McAvaney's call is SO UNDERWHELMING. No wonder the old codger retired pretty soon after.
Correct. You just know that if it was Clangerfield that Bruce would have lost his voice calling it.

Agree Ian. Another thing to consider is that in 3 Grand Finals, Dusty has kicked 10 goals 2 behinds. As a comparison, Buddy kicked 11.9 from 5 Grand Finals, and Wayne Carey kicked 4.7 from 3 Grand Finals, and they are considered 2 of the greatest key forwards ever!

This says it all really - love your work.

Glad you didn’t mention Bereton or Dunstall in your stats as they are both in the top 5 for goals kicked in grand finals (they played in a few)

Yes, Chief and Derm had great Grand Final records in amazing teams. Can't think of a midfielder who has kicked this quantity and quality of goals in the biggest games.

Was funny watching Talking Footy after Front Bar last night. Cotch was asked to speak about Dusty and to nominate 10 (I think?) most memorable moments …..as soon as he finished his initial piece, Duckwood is asked to say something and straight away starts talking about Dangerfield and Dusty ……of course…..but then out of the 10 memorable moments, at least 4 were when we played against the Scats…..😂……Including the passage of play where Dusty left Dangerfield in his wake sprawling on the ground as he kicked a great goal. Beautiful to watch.

That's what he whinged about to Chimp.

IMO, the Front Bar was poor with Ooze last night....even bordering on racism. Bland show as it's always been.
