In the above SEN piece Tom Morris claims to have spoken to people "in and around" Dusty.

He went Buddy #1, Ablett Junior #2 and wait for it........Diverfield #3. His reasoning was that Diver had been All Australian 8 times and that even though Dusty had won 3 Norm Smiths, that was only 3 games, albeit big games. He had Dusty on the next level of players such as Judd, Pavlich and Pendlebury.

What Lethal has overlooked here is that Dusty has won 3 Gary Ayres medals for best player in finals series, not 'just' Grand Finals and not to mention the performances from Dusty in big Home and Away games also. The other thing he missed is that the 3 times Dusty and Diver faced off in finals games, it was like a Grade 6 kid toying with a Grade 1 kid in the playground, Dusty absolutely dismantling Diver each time. My level of respect for Lethal has greatly reduced after watching the clip!

Previously he has said there has never been a better season put together by a player than Dusty in 2017 and he's the only player he's not insulted to be compared to. Didn’t Matthews say once that the only player he wouldn’t be offended to be compared to was Dusty?

I think there has been a whispering campaign in the media, goes to the fact he doesn't jump when told to jump, doesn't pay homage to the boys club, and also I think there are people who don't like Richmond and are just sick of having to talk about how good he is.

Can’t even pull out the Diver has won a Brownlow card, because Dusty’s got one, too. AA’s are a media award that are given far too much weight when assessing these types of lists.

Maybe there is a real clue in the apparent contradiction in LM's words recent past and currently re Dusty: " Previously he has said there has never been a better season put together by a player than Dusty in 2017 and he's the only player he's not insulted to be compared to."

He's being quite sly most likely (IMO) i.e. he's realised Dusty is the genuine threat to his highly questionable claim to be the GOAT. Hence, wants to use his role as a media doyen for now, to 'push him down'.

To put it simply, it's jealousy of the threat to his legacy that Dusty poses.

I hear from him every week, at the ground where he does his work.. His footy does the talking, but I suppose that doesn't sell papers and the poor suckhole AFL media feel left out.

Yeah I was going to say this, Dusty definitely deserved more AAs, so its a *smile* argument on that level.

AAs? If I said I really don't give a f^&ck about AAs I would be overstating the level of care. AA is a contrived joke, the AFL suckhole media just seem to have trouble seeing this.
