Expect Richmond v Carlton to be postponed or the fans locked out

There's a lot of people saying this. Where did it originate from?

Apparently Melbourne FC is separated into four different locations, presumably so that if one group goes down they can still field a team. Not sure how a team can be expected to perform at an elite level under such conditions.

Obviously there's a $25b contract at stake and they're doing all they can not to breach, but the AFL has never been good at rules on the run and I suspect its rushed attempts to keep the season alive are destined to fail.
Be taking a line from the NBA, but factor in the clown quotient of that player. He was in denial over the virus and touched everything in the press room and the locker room, then returned a positive test.

Give all players the virus now, isolate for 2 weeks, then start the season slightly delayed.

32 deg on Thursday....warm night....low possibility in anyone of 80-90K spreading this virus....IF they have it.

Sigh.

Not true. Highly contagious, can still easily be spread just not as prolifically. If it was a week or two ago we would have been at the game.

Yeah, if no one touches each other or any other surface that other people touch. Or breathe near each other.

Meanwhile the players will be out there sweating n grappling. Hocking up loobies n wiping their noses on their jumpers, but as long as they bump elbows instead of shaking hands they'll all be safe as.

Yep. Sweat is an interesting word here.

Already explained once to you why 36 blokes butting heads is still less risky than 36 blokes plus 90000 rubbing shoulders watching them butt heads. It's not rocket science.

Anyway, I'm tipping we won't even have the 36 in a few weeks.

That's what I would have thought too. They've shut the beaches in my community. It was 34DegC today.

Can someone clarify, is there still a possibility that Thursday night's game will be canned/postponed?
Watching the news tonight, they mentioned that Gill is still considering his options.

I assume they'll make special provisions for certain circumstances. Eg if RCD debuts that'd have to let his Mums in.

yes - if one club has to quarantine its players because one of its players has a positive test then yes, they won’t proceed with one club out of action.
