Essendon = Entitlement

Hah hah hah…so let’s get this right.

This total arse of a club is going to do an external review - which they should have done all along - but wait, they’re going to sack the coach and appoint Clarkson before they’ve even started it ! They’re going to make a call on the single most important person in the single most important role in the football department BEFORE they’ve even started their review ! Talk about diluting the significance of your review.

Ha hah hah hah…these losers are just a completely defective rabble. It’s great.
I heard they want to get the mob that arranged the Adelaide pre-season camp, to come in and oversee things.
Essendon are really impressed by how the Crows responded, and the buy-in from all the players.
Might even try and trade for Tex Walker.

Essendon pinching Clarkson would make me so happy.

Yet another big name rejecting north, and willing to go anywhere but that vacuous, echoing abyss of insignificance.

And Essendon thinking another messiah has landed just to repeat the Malthouse to Carlton effect.

Win. Win. Win.

I have said this before but the biggest winner in the long run will be GWS.

They have run a proper process whilst the other 2 are like two teenagers fighting over the prom queen.

You can buy the best coaches and assistants in the land but unless you have the right culture embedded into the club, success is rarely achieved. Essendon proves the point

Clarko might be just chasing the money. They may even pay him out earlier when the *smile* hits the fan again which it will.

Another day, another reminder of how ingrained Essendon privilege is across the land.

This time, the media narrative is along the lines of: if Essendon wants Clarkson, Essendon gets Clarkson.

The theme seems to extend to romance being the only reason Clarkson would now choose North Melbourne.

It's bizarre.

Essendon is in a death spiral. They don't have the tools to understand their predicament, much less do what's required to get the show back on track.

Clarkson would be mad to choose Essendon. People forget: he would be there to coach, not to identify and weed out every culture-killing lightweight who lurks in the mouldy corners of the 'Hangar'. Fixing Essendon is a 'whole-of-club' matter.

Clarkson is the wrong choice for Essendon and Essendon is the wrong choice for Clarkson.
great post N8. Couldnt agree more, well put.

exactly UK. Wrote it yesterday, they really are a club with no standards or culture.

I just read online snippets of a sheedy interview today on SA radio. Its on fox website.
If true, even the way he spoke and answered re Rutten has no empathy or kindness. Asked whether he expected Rutten to lead out the Bombers against Richmond in the final round of the season, Sheedy told 5AA radio: “I’d hope so, ‘cause he’s on a contract.”

Could have been more empathetic.

Then he says this below which is disrespectful to North. The guy is a *smile*. Imagine how much worse he is within their 'four walls.

Asked about his own view on Clarkson, Sheedy suggested North Melbourne - the other suitor for the four-time premiership coach’s services - would make sense.
He even floated the possibility Clarkson could help relocate the club to Tasmania.

“I think Clarkson could be perfect moving into North Melbourne, I wouldn’t be surprised, take ‘em down to Tasmania,” Sheedy said.

“You don’t know what’s in other people’s thinking, do you?

“He’s been locked into Tasmania with the state government, and because everyone wants North Melbourne to move because we’ve got too many teams here ... too many teams in Melbourne, most people in Australia think that we do, so you just never know if Alastair says I’m looking a bit bigger picture than just going to coach a team in Melbourne.

“It could even involve Tasmania, you just don’t know.”

Essendon had a run in the mid 60s winning in 65 and playing in a grand final in 68. They had some very prominent top liners like Jack Clarke, John Birt, Ken Fraser, Ken Fletcher and Barry Davis amongst others. They were certainly up there with Collingwood, Carlton, Geelong and us during that time.
They dropped away in the 1970s until the Sheedy era.
They won the 1962 Flag.

Sheedy is just trying to create a distraction from the disaster that is the Essendon Football Club, a disaster that he is partly responsible for.

Sheedy is hanging out for the return of Hirdy. I dont think he wants Clarkson because he wont be easy to control. He has his hands all over this.

Watch this change to BBH once Clarkson turns them down (Bring Back Hirdy)

Sheedy loves Essendon being *smile*.
Because they always run back to him as the golden savour.
He is a massive trouble maker.
The new Essendon coach must remove him immediately or he will end up destroying him behind his back.

This………… Blobbo also wrote a column today in support of Clarkson going to North instead of Essendon. Both Sheedy and Robbo have fought the long and tiresome fight to get Hird back to Essendon. For Robbo, who openly wears his heart on his sleeve with regards to Essendon, who can’t contain his excitement on 360 when they win and has staff keeping sharp objects away from him when they lose, this is a mighty strange and sudden position. Guess what, Sheedy also comes out to stir the pot. Whether they expect they can get him back for 2023, or 2024 is yet to be seen.

Interestingly, it was only months ago the AFL ticked off on his (Hird’s) return to coaching ranks. There has been a group of Essendon idiots who have been working behind the scenes for years to get him back. It is EXACTLY the reason they are in the poop. They have no-one to blame but themselves for the position they are in. Coterie groups with too much influence, an arrogance worse than Benito Mussolini’s at his peak and a cult like worshipping of Hirdy Girdy.

Get him back by all means. It would be great. I could go back to hating Essendon like I used to. May take me a few weeks to switch back from Geelong but I know I can do it. All I need do is remember the arse Essendon supporters who used to rub my nose in it as a Richmond supporter when they were at their peak.

I watch on with much interest.

You gotta be feeling sorry for Rutten right now. Everyone knows he's getting the arse yet they keep him pulling him along. Him dealing with the media on arriving and leaving the club yesterday was embarrassing. Typical of this mob to treat someone like Rutten like *smile* yet openly worship the likes of Hird who sent the club down the shitter.

Yes they have treated him with complete disdain and disrespect. I can't immediately recall a coach ever being treated so disgracefully.

"Hey Ben, you're a pretty *smile* coach and we're gonna go balls in to convince Clarko to coach us so we can give you the arse. But whilst we sort that out you will just need to continue in the role until Clarko says yes. In the unlikely event he says no (ha ha who can resist the mighty Bombers; we're the best), we'll need you to continue whilst we undertake an actual process and work out who will be the next best replacement for you. It'll be an embarrassing sh1tshow for you and the media will hound you every day and ask you awkward questions. But even though we are treating you like sh!t you still need to act in the best interests of the mighty Bombers. You're a trooper."

What a joke of a club.
