Essendon = Entitlement

How are the Bombers going to afford 1-1.2 million for Clarkson ,and then he bring's in his mate Viney and who ever else he want's ,and then have Ruttens salary on their soft cap for 2023.
Caracella is on decent money and so is Gia,and the messiah Dodo would be on big money having total control over recruiting and list management .
I know the soft cap goes up 500k next year ,but something doesn't sit right with me.

I know North would be well under the soft cap,and l would think Clarkson will go their ,and he will be able to bring in his assistants without much problems.

Yes they have treated him with complete disdain and disrespect. I can't immediately recall a coach ever being treated so disgracefully.

"Hey Ben, you're a pretty *smile* coach and we're gonna go balls in to convince Clarko to coach us so we can give you the arse. But whilst we sort that out you will just need to continue in the role until Clarko says yes. In the unlikely event he says no (ha ha who can resist the mighty Bombers; we're the best), we'll need you to continue whilst we undertake an actual process and work out who will be the next best replacement for you. It'll be an embarrassing sh1tshow for you and the media will hound you every day and ask you awkward questions. But even though we are treating you like sh!t you still need to act in the best interests of the mighty Bombers. You're a trooper."

What a joke of a club.
Not far wrong Riddler (y)

You gotta be feeling sorry for Rutten right now. Everyone knows he's getting the arse yet they keep him pulling him along. Him dealing with the media on arriving and leaving the club yesterday was embarrassing. Typical of this mob to treat someone like Rutten like *smile* yet openly worship the likes of Hird who sent the club down the shitter.
They are are a *smile* show the joint is a haven of shithousery.

Not to mention he was giving players there end of season reviews, including advising those delisted, in the immediate days before he was finally let go.

They knew full well then he was gone and put him (and the players) through that.

Weak.
It’s Carlton, that’s what they do. Only difference to the old days is then John Elliot would have met the outgoing coach outside and handed over a brown paper bag of cash

Spot on. And you know what they'll try and do to Rutten? I don't know what he gets paid but let's call it $500K per year. They will have to pay him out that $500K for next year but I bet they put in a clause that says if he gets another footy job that salary will then come off the $500K they owe. So say he get's an assistant coach job on $200K the Bummers will want to pay him only $300K so they can get some soft cap relief. I'm not sure of the legalities and contractual arrangements but if I was Rutten I would tell them to *smile* off. He has a contract and should expect full payment if they want to sack him. What he does for employment after they sack him is none of their concern.

As a last resort, if it was agreed the Bummers could deduct future salary of another job from the payout, if I was Rutten I would just say righto and then proceed to sit on my bum for a year and make them cover the full amount in the soft cap. Just to spite the slimy pricks. *smile* em.

I seem to remember that Hawthorn negotiated Clarkson’s payout last year over two years. He was owed $900k but agreed to receive it over two years. If he took it over one year, then the Hawks would have breached the soft cap this year.

It follows that the Hawks will pay the first $450k of his salary next year, allowing Essendon to put a similar amount towards Rutten’s payout. They will probably have change from that, so more money to Clarkson.

Was reported on 7 news tonight that Essendrugs would simply pay the AFL tax for breaking the soft cap, they go a million over the cap n get taxed an extra million the bastards wouldn't even notice. They've put shitloads of shekels in the bank since they got over their drugs saga n have plenty of wealthy coterie members to sponge a bit extra from.

It was suggested on AFL360 that Essendon may have been speaking to Clarkson weeks ago.

The new president was just waiting for an excuse to oust the old one and make his play for Clarkson public.

Amazes me how they keep bringing there own and there sucking the club dry. How Dororo is there still there is laughable atleast Josh Mahoney woke up realised he's a failure the rest look after there own. Shafted Knights and now Rutten.

Blokes like Sheedy are the ones that destroy clubs.
Don't listen to fksticks like Cornes Mark Williams is the same..
They are the 1st to turn when things aren't going right.
I've never considered Sheedy a Richmond person and he heard it after the 17 flag.
Dodoro Sheddy and a few others run Essendon like the Italian Mafia
All smiles but the knives are always out.
The only way the average Joe will know that this Ricky Barham is serious if both Sheedy & Dodo are gone.
Otherwise this will continue onto the next coach
