Elimination Final Game Day Thread v Lions

Two words. Prestia hamstring. :(
He is pulling them when he isn't on the screen now.
This won't improve, not at his age.
Now the club has to accept Dion is a 10-15 game player.
But even with that he could pull a hammy running through the banner.
The 2 times he has pulled his hammy this year has been in sub tropical conditions.
Round 1 and tonight both low 20's mild conditions.

‘It takes conclusive evidence’ nope that’s not right. ‘It should take conclusive evidence’ well they say it should but no that can’t be right either. ‘It could maybe take conclusive evidence if there was or was not any’ perfect, that sounds right.

Or

'As it turns out, gary just wrapped an old betamax video player in some multi-coloured easter egg foil and called it an ARC'

Much like the Geelong game earlier this year, we would have won by 2+ goals if Prestia hadn't been removed from the game early on.

Instead you should be referencing an arconym - "ARC"
Nah we were up by 17 with 8 mins to go.
We lost that game almost exactly like we lost tonight game.
Our defenders can't punch

It takes conclusive evidence that the umpires decision was incorrect and if that goal was counted with 3 minutes to go, so there's nothing to suggest we wouldn't have held on even if we'd made the same series of mistakes.
I know that. But you also know that’s not how they’ve been operating ALL year long. How many times have you seen them rely on grainy footage this year ? Heaps. So just kick it clearly through from a measly 5m out. Eliminate the potential ….from 5m out.

Richmond robbed itself tonight with its game long errors.

Hooch talked about execution during the week and before the game. In the end we couldn’t execute well enough. Simple as that.

3 words

Taranto AND Hopper ...........
Graig 150%.
We need both desperately.
We aren't winning a GF trying to score coming out of Def 50.
I will be asking Jack and Cotchin to take pay cuts to get them both in.
Where's Stafford when you need him.
Ottens tonight wouldve kicked 6 and had 434 hit outs to advantage.
Nakas must've been injured.
He kicked the ball like Mick McGuane tonight

Marty Crouch ? The comedian from Darwin ? Suppose he’d be useful about now I guess.

I'm glad we didn't do the fake tough guy thing and try to bully Zorko like the media wanted us to. Would have been very un-Richmondy. Still get screwed over by the AFL anyway, but we take it on the chin.

Speaking from experience, that position won't go well for you. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Now go and write 1000 times Less free kicks, umpires bad, more free kicks umpires good. ;)
At your patronising best? Really, no-one can see what you can? Or you refuse to see what everyone else can?

Think I have more faith in the vast majority overall. Or the weight of statistics over six years now let alone the irrefutable evidence I see with my own eyes.
But the latest is a doozy - AFL reverse their own 1/2 year policy of abiding with umpire's call unless incontrovertible evidence to prove otherwise before disallowing a goal. Now allegedly went over the goalpost from a long distance shot with a really uncertain angle.

Utter BS. But all the way with Gil and team, eh TBR. Yippee! How good is that!

Get short out of the middle…but he’s also a liability down back.
He will never be a bone fide mid. Not tough or hard enough at it. Does not tackle enough.

Wing or HBF only ... if we had ever successfully drafted some proper mids.

All you're saying is that the arc has been a disgrace ALL year long (or since day 1) and now it's cost us a crucial game.

I'd be interested to hear about another precedent when a goal umpire's decision been overturned from a ball flying over the top of the goal post in the past.

I know there has been the odd controversial touched decision based on grainy-ass footage of a finger flying back on the replay, but we don't have the depth of angle to call a shot above the goal post as conclusive.

No, despite having a great game, what cost us was TJ making a simple 5 metre kick at goal an extraordinarily difficult exercise.

Or, more truthfully, the insane amount of basic, fundamental errors we made as a team all game long. Hanging your hat on a disputable call conveniently ignores all of that.

Richmond robbed itself tonight.

Its vertical goal-top infinity lazer beam technology.

Its based on wizard of oz theory

So we've lost games this year due to common sense and a players goal reaction. Nice.
No players' reaction is the determinant of a goal*. That's the goal umpire's paid and trained role. He called it a goal. AFL ARC then totally broached their own rules and prior policy.

Q. When the ball travels above the post, how can you be certain it may have hit the post at a lower level?
A. The goal umpire's decision.

* So Lynch's reaction FWIW cancelled out by Andrews', but Tom just looked unsure to me. But he/they are NOT the goal arbiters.

Richmond robbed itself tonight.

TJ kicked the winning goal tonight and was robbed of it.

Whatever may have happened post that "goal" is irrelevant now.

We may have lost by 3 goals if he wasn't credited with his earlier goals too.

Aside from lachie neale playing a superb game of footy,

The difference between the degree to which richmond and Brisbane robbed themselves tonight,

Was richmond had accomplices
