Elimination Final Game Day Thread v Lions

End of day, Lynch didn’t celebrate. not one tiger celebrated. Clearly they all thought it was a point.
Nope.
Goal umpire says a goal.
Overturn only when clearly witnessed.
The AFL cheated on their own rules.
They will sort it out at our expense like so many more of their rules.

Huh?

They got 5 goals directly from soft questionable free kicks.

Hipwood got 3 goals absolutely gift wrapped!

We lost by 3 points from a very very dubious arc review.

I agree we were poor and would not be advancing next week, but how on earth can anyone say that game wasn't influenced by umpires?!??!
I never moan about umps. It's a dead end.

Findlay sat on the bench next to Hocking in the 2020 GF
I'm telling you if was on the ground the result might’ve been different
yeah Findlay was quick for the Lions tonight
gave them a lot and us very little. particularly the first half

Glad Taz had a chance to play a final. Pitty it was a loss like that. Hopefully gets another chance next year the bloke was an absolute warrior for us this year
*smile* me. Why wasn’t Lynch doing the wiggle fingers?
Don’t we train for that?

I thought we had hit pay dirt when Mcinenerny went off in first 4 minutes. Pathetic we couldn't even find a speck of gold in the ruck.

That’s essentially a provocative post. Clearly disadvantaged by the umpires which in a close game had an influence?
Please do a review of the umpires because they ultimately did cost the game.
'It's" review will give the umpiring a tick al la AFL on Monday morning for the goal review.
We saw it as we saw it.
It won't change.

A goal umpire misses an obvious missed goal in the spotlight of a grand final (08?), so then we have the arc system deployed to prevent a blunder call like that potentially changing a result.

Apart from being another reason to dislike Tom Hawkins, the system as it’s used is ridiculous.

I haven’t seen an instance where I thought the system was worth the trouble. Why not review every finger tip in every passage of play leading up to the hair breadth goal/point call? May as well, as it’s the same logic used for these line ball things.

It’s a waste of time and it cost us the game.

Irrelevant. Umpire called it a goal and there needs to be sufficient evidence to overturn it. Haven’t seen it yet. Hopefully the AFL will release satellite laser footage tomorrow confirming the call

Well they were not looking directly up the post as the ball sailed by. He thought it was a goal. Where was the camera in better position that showed the ball ‘passing directly over the post’ ? There ain’t one.

Nank was terrible tonight. He just played a dumb game, constantly winning the ruck and giving it straight to Neale. It was Rhys Stanleyesque.

We are crying out for a couple of clearance players and that needs to be the priority next season. We still need a key forward but every other player drafted needs to be an inside mid.
Isn’t that what you/we said last year?

Is this the 1st time the goal umpires call has been over ruled by no footage of the ball going on the other side of the post?
Lynch lined up like a 17 yr old 1st gamer.
It should've a 3 steps forward and 1 tithe left and a snap with his left.
It was an ordinary shot at goal.
Yeh could not believe what lynch did. Dumb dumb dumb. Sums up
our season. What a waste.

Sorry mate if my post offended you. Based on that performance against a non existent ruck oppo (who knocked himself out in the first quarter) I’d have thought a triple premiership ruck warrior captain would have had a field day. Guess he wasn’t right. Gastro?

Nah i was agreeing with you.

Inexplicably dreadful

This why the AFL can't be taken seriously
Nakas was our worse.
And if you asked anyone who do we need to stop to win its Neale & Mclugge.
While Stavich held Bolton all night.
We didn't go anywhere near stopping those 2.

The worst part was the speed in which the decision was made. That in itself tells you it was a blatant lie. There is no way they could have come to that conclusion in that amount of time with the footage on show

This is worse then the time I gave my dad $16 to buy me the new Beastie Boys tape at Brashes and he came home with Bananarama.
