Elimination Final Game Day Thread v Lions

Given the current rules & the way the game is now played, we simply have to fix clearance.

We have Prestia & Cotchin & that’s it. If we had two more classy ball winners in the middle this year, we’d be premiers.

I agree. It may have been a point, it may have been a goal, but how many times do you see a shot on the tv and it looks like it is going to hit the post and then sails through for a goal. It was guesswork at best, no idea how they could claim it was conclusive.
Yeh it’s a staggering decision based on what we could see.
How the views shown could be said to be definitive is crazy.
Unfortunately this will be the major talking point. The reality is the umps hurt us in general and we butchered the game.

It was unquestionably THE worst final played by a triple premiership warrior ruckman captain

In the history of the world.

He cant have been right.

His only bit of decent tapwork all night was when he put that ball on danihers toe in the goal square.

But he could play another 100 games worse,

And still be in credit.

Strange

Sorry mate if my post offended you. Based on that performance against a non existent ruck oppo (who knocked himself out in the first quarter) I’d have thought a triple premiership ruck warrior captain would have had a field day. Guess he wasn’t right. Gastro?

We also cannot go into next season with both Jack and Tom in the fwd line. While Jack nailed some crucial ones tonight it just makes us too damn slow in the fwd half which in turn allows easy rebound

Rubbish. Our forward line isn’t the concern. It’s our defensive unit. We leak far too many goals. That starts in the midfield.

As bad as Toms kick for goal was i think the spoiling attempt at the end was worse. Four players and none threw themselves at the ball to make sure it crossed the line. They should thrown everything at that but they just slapped at it. Pathetic all round

Nank seemed unable to connect his boot to the ball properly. Kept kicking it 10 metres
We need to thank Nakas and wish him well.
When duds like the Adelaide ruckman beats you it's time to look elsewhere.
It was one of those games. They lose a player in the 1st 5 mins and it ends up benefiting them.
It's unbelievable how many times I've the opposition lose a player early and they seem to play better.

How many times have we lost games or given up red time goals because we don’t do that

It’s like there’s a collective stupidity on rushing a behind

I suggest you watch the game again and see just how easily they strolled out of their backline all game. Agree re defensive unit. Midfield pressure was also non existent all game

Player reaction means nothing. Where is the evidence that it wasn't a goal? We should demand to see the angles that the arc supposedly has.
Yeah don't disagree. But then it would gloss over what a pathetic performance it was from a very undermanned Brisbane side. But even though we played poorly we still should have won. We had it in our grasp and we absolutely blew it again. How the hell did we not kill the ball over the line before Daniher's last goal.

The extreme height of ineptitude. The story of our year.

We weren't going to win the flag this year, we were carrying too many injuries into the back end of the year.

There's got to be something we're doing wrong with our players too. The amount of hamstrings, just unbelievable, surely it's not coincidence.
It came back to bite us today, I don't think we lose with Prestia on the field.

Oh well. A couple of new players next year, time to regenerate and stay competetive. Now, please god, just not the cats.

The bloke in the Arc has just returned the Brisbane scarf back to the club
How could he over turn the goal umpires goal of a goal? How??

If you look at this picture carefully you can see the goal umpire is in perfect position to make his call. The score reviewers are making their call from no better position than someone in the crowd. SMH.

Our defence has been poor all year. And it’s not just the back 6 I am talking about. All around the ground. You can’t concede over 100 points and expect to win premierships.

Neale carved us up tonight. Unbelievable.
I had him 3rd most influential person on the ground.

Behind Finlay and Mollison

Come on
How many times have you seen this year and even last year conceded goals in those exact play.
We were up by 17 with 8 mins to goal against Geelong and we made some terrible defensive mistakes.
Instead of punching it out we pushed towards Geelongs goal.
2 defenders go up but no one looks at Henry.
Astbury was the General
