Dylan Grimes JDM

Wasn't he a PSD pick?

Agree however I can see him playing 200 games, if he stays fit. I don't think he'd get enough respect for an AA berth, but I think he's definitely a B+ or better.

Rance is an A+(+++++)
Yes your correct General PSD my mistake...

Dylan Grimes is an absolute champion.

The only thing he ever does wrong is tweak his hammies.
Totally. Grimes's dodgy hammies are a big tragedy for the club. Without those issues and he's A grade all the way.

Poorly skilled one sided turnover merchant.
Good defensively but the game demands a lot more these days.
With Ast, Batch and Elton we have way too many of these B, C and D types.
Really need Garthwaite to make it.

Disagree.

He has very good skills and is very evasive. With a half decent game plan he'd be even better. Easily better than all of Astbury, Batch and Elton.

Correct.
Let's hope Batch isn't a walk up start in the back half again this year.
If he is, that's a sure sign we ain't going anywhere.

Huh, walk up start? He played 8 games in 2016, the last was Round 12.

Very good skills?
Media interviews don't count.

Very evasive?
He went to the Joel Selwood school of falling to his knees when tackled, and winning the high tackle free.
As per the recent rule changes, that option no longer exists.
His other preferred evasive skill is to run back/in a circle and handball to a teammate under pressure.
He has six weeks to learn some new tricks.

Thought Dylan was a bit disappointing last year.
Hopefully a full pre season and further confidence in his troublesome legs sees him rebound to his best.
His best is clearly good enough to make the 22.

Agree his best is good enough to make the 22 but's more a comment on our backline shortcomings that any strength's of Dylan's.
He is symptomatic of Richmond - honest battler that is ultimately not good enough to take us where we want to go.

Whaaaaat?

Grub is a star, fellas.

*smile* knows where the backline would be without him and Rancey.

Love his desire but worry about his disposal!

Injury has always been his problem. Will always halve a contest.

Hopefully an injury free season will see him excel.

Agreed, reckon he is very reliable. I dont recall too many howling turnovers from him, though I didn't like his ducking to win the high free kick. Still I would rather see him do it than that serial ducker selwood, but maybe I'm just biased.

Agree that Grimes is least of our problems. His disposal is solid enough.

The interview on club site is a cracker. Anyone pick up on the subtle serve to Rance and Ashbury calling them turnover merchants and saying defenders have to work hard to win ball back. It was seamless comedic genius!

He was complimenting them on turning over opposition balls.

Hmm. Not sure about that. I think his best is good enough.
Dale Morris is his model when he's playing well.

Batchelor is the battler.

Nah you're watching the wrong player. Grimes is very skilled, reliable and we need him. Probably not his best year last year but gee we played some pathetic footy as a team. Can suck out the confidence of the best players.
