Dylan Grimes JDM

Grimes in now in his 7th season and is basically at the peak of his football ability - this is the best you are going to get from him physically and he is still injury prone.

He still has the potential to be a more versatile footballer but not in the current Richmond mindset that has him pigeon-holed as a basic replaceable defender who does nothing special - the AFL is full of players like this and they are basically a commodity.

A new coach or new club may give him a chance to be a better footballer, but he is doomed to mediocrity in the current situation.

He'd be the first defender picked after Rance. He's only "replaceable" because he's often injured.

What role would you like to see him play apart from what he does now David?

Seasons end for Dimma after another hamstring tweak. A career blighted by weak hamstrings

Dimmas hammy's are the least of his worries IMO

thought grimes flogged cyril today.

Yep put Grimes out to pasture for the year. Played well overall today.

Grimes is the least of our worries if you ask me. At least he gets himself in the contest and I reckon he is a reliable defender for us. Liked his game today. If only he wasn't so injury prone.

Roili was like a sub, Till the time grimes went off the ground, he come on.
Grimes destroyed him

Get him as close to right as possible for the pre season. Great oppurtunity for a Broad or even Moore to get some expirence in his role. Don't want to waste games with Batchelor.

H's been declared fit to play. Wouldn't want to get injured.

Why? If fit to is fit to go. Medics call not Dimmas.

Not like we have the medicos of the dogs. Just ask Clay Smith and Redpath!

Thought he was excellent against the Pies. Important player in our future. Hope like blazes he can get past the hammies because he's a ripper.

He's always good. I love him.

Gun defender. He plays well, we usually win.
The game against the pies in rd2 turned as soon as he went off.
Who said we can't draft?

If Rance is indeed approaching the best defender of all time (as the current commentator narrative goes, I'm not really buying in), then Grimesy is playing an extraordinary 2nd fiddle.

It seems we have 2 blokes who hate losing a 1:1 in the back half.
