Biggest hurdle this year for grimes was not getting injured and he achieved that , just a toe I think at one stage.

Full preseason , get really fit and we will hopefully see the grimes we expected in 2015.
Exactly, plus the longer the season went on the more his performances improved. Most likely due to having greater faith in his body.

Get your shots in now guys, because I reckon with an uninterrupted preseason he will follow the trajectories of Rance and Astbury.

The biggest problem for Grimes ,Batch & Co was that the footy kept being fed into the backline far too often for two reasons. Unforced turnovers from Tigers up field, eg poor short passes, handballs etc etc. plus not going man on man leaving a quality opposition unmarked in Tigers forward line. Prime example of that HRH Harry Taylor BoG as Harry never had anyone on him. Last Saturday same scenario.

he looked good in the last few games, ran extremely well, spoiled well, got to contests and second and third efforts were excellent. Going places this boy.

With him playing well and Astbury back next year might be hard for Continental Drift (Chaplin) to get a game.

I agree, although he's not quite and probably never will be true key position size. However playing as 3rd or even 4th tall in the back line behind Rance, Astbury/Chaplin gives the back line a lot of flexibility and adds another dimension to it.

Him and batchelor are the two big impressive improvers ....both been very very solid and reliable in the nab games and have continued to grow

I was impressed, looks confident in his body. If he continues to keep linking up and run the ball out of defence will be very handy this year.

Seems to have recovered from his horrible run with injury. His versatility should cement his spot in the side; much prefer him to Batchelor who plays a similar role. Should be hitting his peak in 2016.

Agree. Although it is great to have Batchelor as back up.
For those that remember 1980 Batch is a Graeme Landy clone
