The AFL have said the compensation is not designed to fully compensate a club for the lost player.

The only way to get a better pick is to finish low on the ladder. It would be such a Richmond thing, to lose a player to free agency on the very year they finish higher than they have for 15 years ( or whatever it is)
 
If he goes, anyone who thinks we will get a better compo pick is dreaming, it wont happen.

Its match and trade, or let him go for a crappy pick.
 
Surely there is a tiger supporter fat cat/big wig who could buy dusties dad half of a large profitable Harley dealership?

Only say half, so he doesn't have to do anything to keep it rolling in the $$$$$$$$$
 
Let's just give him a year more than Norf are offering to match the total earnings!
8 year contract - he'll be kicking 70 goals a year when he's 34.
 
I think we should just cut to the chase and go Dustin Martin this is your offer if you do not accept then we gonna move on and give it to the best possible player in which who wants to be apart of the best ride in AFL history.

Someone said it General. We should be celebrating the season and a possible top 4 and we have this cloud hanging over it. Some supporters are sick of it. So many of the media stories are about will he stay instead of about a team achieving far more than expected.
It's time to put it to bed. We have a whole group of unsigned players waiting on one player.
 
I can't remember where I read this but in an article on Dusty that I read last night, they said that a late comer for his services was ..... Sydney. I will try to find the article if I can.

Hopefully on no more than $1.2M over six years Leysy.

I'm concerned that any more would limit our future signings or retaining our developing players.

How can Sydney possibly afford Buddy and Dusty. That'd be $2million plus for just two players. I be checking their creative book keeping!
 
If Dusty wants to leave for money then he should show he is honorable and say to North I will come but provided u make a fair trade for me. Aka dangerfield. This way supporters will better understand. If he just leaves then supporters of all clubs will boo him. He can still come out looking good while chasing money and fairly compensate the team that has developed him to achieve this.
 
i think if he leaves a top 4 (I hope top 4) team for $1.4+ as opposed to our $ 1.1-1.2 then as we do oh so well the Tiger army will turn savage when we play him in 2018. Yeh I know some of you wont boo but I suspect it will be a booo he will hear vs Richmond for the rest of his paying days. Its just part of the theater.
