I feel lost. What happened in the last 24 hours that created all this vitriol?

The only thing I saw was something saying he'd consult with his Dad about what to do. Am I missing something?

Paul Conners manager of Josh Kelly just said that he will always prefer his clients to stay at one club.
This is the same bloke that helped Judd go to Carlton, dangerfield to Geelong and Jason Torney to Adelaide

Everyone's sick of it. Instead of enjoying the wins this season all we keep hearing about is the crap revolving around this contract rubbish. And he's got form stringing us out with contracts. Doesn't scream team player really.

According to the Hun, Apparently the AFL have confirmed we will get a pick after our 1st pick in this years draft.

I'm sure that's what it would be, however I'd imagine contracts have to been seen first before a pick is issued, sounds bizarre that the AFL would make that statement .

Headline 687 for the hearld sun
"Tigers game changing war chest if dusty goes"

They mention will be in a very strong position to chase lynch from GC *** pity lynch should've been in yellow and black already...
And we will have picks 15-16-17 in this year's draft

Even the media have changed their tune. Before it was an unlikely move. Now we have articles talking about our war chest, how those 3 nth supporters should get excited coz he has better stats at etihad colonial telstra dome stadium and what our compensation will be. :help

Pity Jack, Rance and cotch will be playing for the Shady Acres Colostomy bags by the time they are serious footballers! Spose we can trade them for the usual scraps that leave their clubs. Well thats the ones that Eddie doesn't get cause their girlfriend's all get jobs at channel 9!

What have they shown? Personally I think it's being over-stated by some.

Good point. There are only so many sportsmen nights. what sources are these after footy dollars coming from that aren't available if he plays for another club?

What's stopping us offering him a 4 year, part time, 1 hour per week coaching magnet mover player welfare mentor role post playing career at 500k per year?

Isn't there a afl tax on non player spending?

How, why? When then could a club ever get a pick early in round 1 if not for Dusty?

We are bigger than an individual player.

Simple. We tell Dusty, you sign after round 23, or we start spending the money we'd put aside for you on others. Then offer the same money to Kelly, or Lynch.

Hmmmm, wasn't that the catalyst that began our 37 year demise?

Personally I think we should do everything possible to keep Dusty. Genuine matchwinners are rare as hens teeth.

It was bad enough at the time, even worse in hindsight. It was driven by paying someone Rioli too much not in his own right but relative to a proven superstar.., Raines. 3 time BandF in a quality side. It's a tough gig to get the balance right.

You forgot to include the tax deductions. Dusty won't be paying 50% tax on his earnings. No-one with a half decent accountant would.
True, but if the tax deductions are similar for both the $1.2m and $1.5m then his net incomes will increase by same amount but the income difference will not change.

One club Brownlow player much, much more marketable.

I've seen this angle mentioned a lot, and had to think why? Call me slow but eventually dawned on me.., Ian Stewart. He is clearly an all time great. But as Riichmond player I respect him more than love him like I do for Francis Royce, Ghst. Even when he played for us to me Stewart was that star we swapped in, not one of our home grown tigers. I wonder what he feels or if he even cares about playing for two clubs? Think he is the only bloke with flag and Brownlow at two clubs. (Though Carlton thought Judd would join him )
