Love Dusty. Felt all year he'll stay.

If North are offering $1.5M against our $1.2M, that's about $150k in his kick (after tax) per year. Not quite chump change but if Dusty wins a Brownlow, genuinely wants some team success, then if the Tigers were able to jag a premiership in the next few years, he'd be a legend of our club, and he's much more marketable (recognising he tends to avoid the spotlight). Add in the way the club has looked after him, and that he seems to have a few mates at the club, it would be hard for him to leave.

Leave and he immediately degrades the value of his Brownlow too.

I'd be offering the $1.2, and maybe anything we find at the back of the couch, and be looking to line him up with a role post football. I'm not suggesting he's going to get a Judd deal with Visy, but you'd think we could line up something.

If he takes the big bucks, so be it. All the best son, and knock yourself out playing in front of two and a dog in some windswept backwater. Tiger supporters will still be roaring at the G.

Norths 1.5 mil over 7 years offer is *smile*.

Let's see them put it on the table first. Dusty will take our 1.1-1.2 mil offer.

Possibly the worst thing you can do when rebuilding an AFL side. Makes no sense whatsoever.

Also, add the financial gain after winning the Brownlow.

But, we're dealing with the Merkin after all. He'll drag it out as long as he can and hope godfather offers come his way.

I don't think it would mean anything to him, however I'm glad every single person in the media has said he would be mad to leave us for North.

Enough of the crap. Does Dusty want to play for us or not?
Its time to give him an ultimatum give us your decision within 10 days or our contract offer is withdrawn.
How are we expected to focus on playing finals. Then work out what were doing re draft when we have the constant Dusty distraction?

His new digs certainly doesn't gain anything from it.

I'm over him tbh , I said earlier in the piece that he was staying but have since changed my mind , saw the after game interview and he looked totally disinterested , how often do we win by 100

Hmmmm,wasn't that the catalyst that began our 37 year demise?

Personally I think we should do everything possible to keep Dusty. Genuine matchwinners are rare as hens teeth.

pretty much lose lose. Both he and the club would miss out. Only Tiger supporters will be interested in that stuff obviously and not too many are gonna want a reminder of the bloke who just dumped them for a big bag of cash! Would you even bother producing any? If he stays, some Dusty/Cotch double brownlow memorabilia would sell like hot cakes
 
I reckon he'll stay with us, but if not, then Norf will go to the wall with that huge money. Desperadoes or what?

Looks like Mark Evans will be assigned yet to another club by the AFL after the Gold Coast, hahaha
 
My observation is that Dusty has now gone past the tipping point of tiger's supporters patience.
Dusty has now dragged this out way too far and is only doing his brand damage from here on.

I personally would not buy anything DM brand until/unless he has put pen to paper and signed with the Tigers.
I would love to buy Brownlow memorabilia if he signs back with us but if he leaves .... forget it .... I would not buy anything.

I hope this message can get through to him somehow.

I'm really not happy that this uncertainty is affecting my enjoyment of both the great season we've have had as a team and of Dusty's individually magnificent season. Seems to be a black cloud hanging over both!

Both should be celebrated but I'm finding difficulty summoning up much enthusiasm :-\

Bigger rumours Brad Scott will take the GC job too. Norf are finished.
 
He's said all year he'll make a decision after the "season" let's wait & see what happens.

Too soon to be spitting the dummy

Yep, agree, I wont touch any memorabilia either. In fact, I'll wait to see if he resigns before I would consider it (IF he wins the brownlow).
If he leaves for North, I wont buy anything. Stuff it. Something that was raised before earlier today about Ricky N was saying. Will Dusty understand this or be blinded by the dollars put forward by Nth.
 
Dusty cannot be bought.....why the hell would he go to Snort Melbourne ?
He is playing premium footy because he loves Richmond.
He is like me ....bloody stubborn.....he will call it when he is ready and this has been the status quo for the last 12 months.
Stuff the press, journo,s and the dreamers... he's staying at Richmond. Rant over.

And I reckon North will go for Buckley if that happens if he also gets the boot from Collingwood.


I feel too, wherever Buckley is, you'll find Rocket Eade join him again. (Eithe the Pies or Nth). Just a gut feeling
