For those on twitter Nixon saying he's had a very interesting chat with Carr , stay tuned he says. Don't shoot the messenger

Nixon, another pillar of honesty & integrity.

True..... I reckon his just trying to get more followers so he can flog of his memorabilia junk

yep, and whose to say that he(Carr) is actually using him (for a small fee) to help raise the ante by spreading some bs mayo on the matter

So The Merkin tells a known liar some confidential info, that known liar then tweets about Carr knowing his stuff.

Honestly our club is been played.

People within our club have been professional about this situation, we aren't making comments to the media.

The Merkin is a side show within it self.

North $1.5M for Duzzy Richmond $1.2M he stays at Richmond and my estimate of additional income from being one club player and networks $5M+

He may have his mad, crazy, personal life choices, but this stuff he knows as well and any one else.

Is he always this chatty or had (Nixon) gone nuts on Twitter today??

Winning the brownlow and flogging memorabilia to us, the richmond fans, is probably worth $2 million on its own.

Dusty will earn less if he leaves.

This has been the club's strategy all along. They know that Carr is a useless specimen of a human and will dig his own grave. The approach is be professional and courteous and, when the media ask, explain that "Dan and Balme are working collaboratively with Ralph".

As an example of how useless he is, when he was presented with our initial offer his first query was "Is that after tax?"

i think he is referring to Carr knows what the long term add on benefits are if he wins Brownlow, flag, B&F etc at the same club and that probably more than offset any short term gain. No doubt it will be a discussion regarding royalties for ongoing merchandise etc. Hence he knows his stuff

Not sure, I don't normally follow him , I just ad a few of the gossip columnists as we come into the silly season

What have they shown? Personally I think it's being over-stated by some.

YER THERE GOING TO SHOW all of us, a life after football plan that will form part of rfc contract duties, besides we can match ,then force a good deal for rfc.

im sure there is a RFC offer to conjure something post football. Not all starts ended up as special comments or boundary riders. He will have a nice income to complement what he made via football. Guess we are 5 days away from knowing our double chance plight and 7-8 days away from knowing our Dusty direction.

In the mean time we will see 100's more stories/tweets/opinions till the call / announcement is made.

What's stopping us offering him a 4 year, part time, 1 hour per week coaching magnet mover player welfare mentor role post playing career at 500k per year?

nothing. be no different to being paid handsomely as a paper ambassador for Vissy!! as a particular Mr C Judd did via the Pratt empire! all above board according to the AFL. makes a mockery of the salary cap!

nothing...Or some one could get him a job like Juddy got and he didn't even know how to use excel..

Matt Thompson just wrote an article on AFL website saying that Dusty's stats at Etihad r better than at the G, so North fans should be 'salivating'.
Now I've heard / seen it all. Unbelievable!
Can Gillon follow through with the threats to take media accreditations away ?!

Given it looks like The Dusty thing could go either way, if we aren't right in to Kelly right now we would be incompetent. I'd be saying to Kelly. We think Dusty is going and we want you to come to us, a Top 4 team as his replacement. We can back out of Dusty signs but if he doesn't we are all in!

Quite a few teams are into Kelly right now. North were into Kelly but have pulled out. It's very hard for the Tigers to put realistic offers to Kelly when we don't know the status of Dusty.

If he leaves and I were the club I would challenge the AFL's compensation system. When you have a clause that states "the committee has the power to recommend alternative outcomes to GM – Football Operations where the formula produces a materially anomalous result." If losing what should be a Brownlow medallist, back to back best and fairest winner who, at 26 years old is widely regarded as arguably the best player in the competition to a contract the likes the competition has never previously seen then a pick after our first round pick would have to be considered a materially anomalous result. If that isn't the case then what is? And I would even take the league to court over that if it were necessary. At the minimum we should get a pick before the first round in the draft which would then net us the KPF we have been looking for.

Come on taraba, none of this is going to happen if Dusty leaves. All part of the equalisation program working a treat.

I can tell you for certain that Dusty won't leave if the offer is $1.5m and the club is offering $1.2m. The ATO takes half of the difference!
On $1.2m the tax is $513,232 leaving him with $686,768 after tax.
A fair offer by the club and I'm sure Dusty will find a way to live on that sort of income with plenty to invest for his future!

On $1.5m the tax is $648,232 leaving him with $871,768 after tax, a difference of $165,000. But what club would put so much into one player when it is a team game with many other players to cater for. Just a nonsense offer.

You forgot to include the tax deductions. Dusty won't be paying 50% tax on his earnings. No-one with a half decent accountant would.
