Carr seen talking to Melbourne Storm officials. Apparently Martin keen to be the first AFL to League crossover player as it gives him the chance to play a game in NZ every year saving him the price of a plane ticket.

I heard he wanted to join the Opals after Carr was seen talking to Cellis, arh Bellis, I mean Liz Ellis. Evidently they play heaps of games in NZ and Carr believes that the Dusty don't argue has a place in netball.

Martin will stay

If he wins a brownlow as a Tiger then leaves, the merch sales will be done and dusted. He loses big time there and so does any club that has him.

If he wants to leave for money, he has no choice but to play at a club with no flag in the next 5 years at least, because a team with a strong list cannot pay him 1.5mill, if he wants a flag he needs to go for unders, which the Tigers can match easily or get a nice trade for.

RFC holds all the cards here

He will be a Tiger, I am 99% sure of that as it is logical.

As per most of the year - needs to play his brilliant best. Seems to he more distractions the better he plays.

Dangers suspension, Carr tour, wants his dad here for Brownlow night - red hot brownlow fav. Most players would be distracted but Dusty might just come out and burn up the G tomorrow.

with all the rumours of clubs being linked etc. importantly one Club NOT linked is Collingwood & they are linked with anything that moves

Collingwood are saving their penny's for Lynch.

News increasing about Dusty - Caroline Wilson is reporting he will stay.

“I think Dustin Martin will accept a six to seven-year deal worth around $1.1 to $1.2 million a year to stay at Tigerland,” she said on 3AW Football.

"The offer has got to the point where it's acceptable for him. I think he wants to accept it. I think his manager agrees."

She said an announcement could be expected in the next few weeks.

Caro " I think" = just another journo guess.

Parking the Dusty focus. Big game tomorrow against a form side. a good start, conversion and multiple contributions is what we want at the G .

Lot of money over a long time for someone that isn't even in the leadership group and does little to promote the club outside of his onfield efforts. Stay or go, the RFC is going to get screwed either way.

I didn't know leadership group membership was a prerequisite to getting paid $1m plus as the best player in the league?

You also sell him short re what he does off the field for the club. And at the end of the day he does it where it really counts - on the field.

What crap.

He is arguably our best player. He wins us football matches.

young Dan Butler being offered peanuts apparently. There will be a few players poached out if we go too high on Martins contract.

Butler has done nothing yet to earn anything more than peanuts, yeah he is performing a role but that's it. If i were him i would jump at any contract extension offered.

What does marketing value even mean? He's a gun, most influential player in the game, so what else is he supposed to do? There are plenty of others like Jack, Rance, Cotchin, etc that can blab at the media. It *smile* me how people devalue him because of some perceived shortcoming in vague marketing terms. The guy does the only thing in footy that matters...he wins games

Probably rightly so. Been extremely quiet of late and need to show consistecy of performance over a period of years to get any more. Dusty is top 3 players in the entire game!
