I thought it was around $1500 a game for the young kids?
 
Ballarat Dan been offered around $175,000 a year. Rioli on double that or a bit more. Dan loves the club hopefully will sign on.

Not sure there is such a huge gap in value myself. Like DRioli, but don't think 2+ times better than Butler.

Devil as always would be in the detail of contracts. Geezer could be looking at $175 base plus match payments n bonuses for amount of games played or goals kicked etc. DRioli could be on $350 all in, purely because he's a higher rated talent.

That's where the send off rule may have worked in our favour. That Lions player had already been reported for headbutting Cotchin when he went to Dusty.

I suppose no player wants to be at the bottom of the AFL pay scale but there has to be several at every club. $175,000? plus any bonuses, (if ST figures correct), is hardly chicken feed for a 21 year old who has only shown glimpses this year and you wouldn't call a lock in the best 22. Should sign and back himself and use the next 2 season to prove his worth.
Plus Merkin will have us paying a million for Shai so need the room in the cap ;)

Nothing against Dan, he's been very good this year. But if we have to lose him to keep Mustin Dartin that's a price worth paying. Particularly with Castagna, Rioli, Bolton and Stengle all showing promise.
